Arun and Anisha are twins. They were born joined and had to be surgically separated. Their minds are constantly telepathically linked since birth and none can function completely separated from the other mind, although they can close each other temporarily off, but only on a conscious level. Subconsciously they are perpetually linked as if they were still one being.
When they finished school, Arun knew what he wanted to do and Anisha did not, that’s why she decided to tag along his choice of career until she found her own calling. But since she didn’t find her true calling, she is still tagging along, doing whatever presents itself as long as it is close to Arun.

Arun’s Starfleet careeer:
- Started out in the medical department and got his first doctor degree in Exo-biology
- Served as an Ensign on the USS Discovery
- Got his second medical degree in neuro-biology and was promoted to Lt. jg.
- Relocated to Outpost DS32 as CMO and got promoted to Lt. during his years there, started his pilot training as a hobby
- Earned his wings as a pilot on the Outpost and started leading away missions of a medical or scientific nature
- During the Dominion war he was recruited to a special task force investigating the experiments the Dominion had conducted on captured Betazoids during the invasion of Betazed
- He took one year eLeave from Starfleet during the war to aid the Government of Betazed in their fight against the Dominion
- After the year he returned to Starfleet active duty and was promoted to Lt. Cmdr. upon his return for ‘Services rendered during the Dominion War’ (details of this year are restricted by Starfleet Intelligence an require his personal clearance)
- He stayed on Earth and started teaching as a professor at Starfleet University
- After 5 years he requested a re-location to a Starbase and was assigned to Starbase 157 as CMO
- After another 5 years he was offered a position at Starfleet Medical HQ on Earth in Command, but he turned it down and instead applied to the position of Chief of Staff on the USS Ogawa
