Character Biography

Appearance
This woman is clearly of the Borg, or once was, at least. She has a tall, lean body frame with ebony skin tinted minutely green due to her species. Which, was not human to begin with. She has prominent facial features, including a single azure eye whereas the other is completely cybernetic though now holds an almost akin blue, as an attempt to make her appear somewhat less robotic. Aside from her eye, she has several tears within her cheeks and forhead that are held together with metallic plates, giving her an even more robotic feel. She also possesses a peculiar cranial ridge that appears in a jagged, flat form. (These ridges can also be found on her arms, hips and lower spine.) Omni has no heart, after being impaled within a battle. In replacement of her heart, is a mechanical mechanism which resembles a human heart but functions in the same means as her species does. Therefore, just above her heart, is another metallic plate which goes into her left shoulder, that happens to be comprised of the same metal. The remainder of that arm is entirely robotic, moving based on wavelengths from her brain, however hardly alive. Her spine is missing various vertebrae, which were replaced with metal vertebrae which enhanced her dexterity. Her legs are both, luckily, still in their original state, though ridden with scars. She is missing her right foot, also replaced by a metal prosthetic that operates just the same. She bears a large, peculiar tattoo that stretches the length of her spine, that appears to be tribal. Omni is a rather gruesome appearing being, though it is simple to see the beauty that she may have once possessed.

Personality
Omni is not known to have much of a personality. While apparently female, she does not act with a feminine nature. Instead, she seems almost stone and without a soul to begin with. Perhaps that could be equated to the literal lack of a flesh heart, though a psychologist might place that under the trauma which she had endured throughout her life. Omni is exceptionally intellectual, which was the basis for her original career path of Intelligence within Starfleet. Beyond intellect, Omni acts with a monotonous feel. She watches and observes far more than she ever speaks. It is nearly impossible to elicit any true emotion, unless tampering with her history, from the Ex-Borg. She has no pride within her position as a member of the hivemind, so it would be wise not to touch such a topic – unless you want to feel the wrath of 2 of 13.

Mental History
Omni often plays a facade which makes her appear invincible and impenetrable. Her game is well played, as any emotion that might pass through her mind is never conveyed. This woman is confident within herself and her abilities. That being said, she suffers from PTSD and nightmares (after recently regaining her ability to dream). Thus, she has also been diagnosed with a severe case of influential insomnia, meaning her insomnia is caused from those issues that she has. However, these issues do not affect her ability to lead and do her job.

Medical History
2 of 13 has no heart, which means that she is bound never to have a heart or respiratory issue, unless that heart shuts down. Her cybernetic eye has to be routinely repaired, due to the work that she came from. That being said, beyond the mechanics of her body, Omni is exceptionally healthy and keeps in good shape. She makes certain to take care of her body, even if she cannot take full care of her mind.

Basic History
When Omni was born, her given name was Serinyana Ghe’ii; a member of the Venendrii Clan, for which she was the daughter of their ranking medical official. She was a rather unique child, spending more of her time with nature, as opposed to being consumed by technology, just as the remainder of her world had been. Sera spent majority of her time studying the land and what it had to offer. She was obsessed by the ancient rituals and routines of her people, which resulted in a serene creature who rather enjoyed her seclusion and time reading into the past, almost entirely lost after an event comparable to the Eugenics Wars, but it was more of a technological thing. In fact, her people were so far advanced, their entire infastructure collapsed, their ability to hide from other words, falling along with it. Thus, resulting in a near total restart of their culture and practices. After this reformation, they vowed never to become such a way again, and stuck to the ways of their distant ancestors.. Practicers of peace and science.

When the Borg came to her planet, Omni was stil incredibly young, about ten years old (her species lives to be about 180 years old; 90 of their years), when placed comparatively into about the time she was born. Her clan was killed around her, each of them found to be hardly worthy of assimilation, mostly due to their mindlessness and inability to become a proper Borg drone. More than half of her planet, a population of 6 billion, was massacred, that day. Roughly 100 million we’re injured and several hundred were taken as Drones. The only reason Omni had been chosen, was due to her defiance and unwillingness to become what they desired her to be. As if asserting dominance, the assimilated her, where she would remain for another five years.

Over the course of her time within the hivemind, she became a ranking member, leading several groups of drones as OMNI (Organic MoNo Intelligence). She was respected by her immediate superiors.. meaning the matriarch, whose respect was hardly notable, because you didn’t know who exactly the said emotion was for. She became a notable member of the assimilation, assisting the queen in her endeavors. It was not until she was met by a Starfleet Captainc having found herself injured, that she was mended. She was beamed upon a starship, unable to escape, meaning the Borg could not retrieve the injured drone. Healed of her injuries, Omni was reluctant to speak and had to be restrained to stop from killing any officer who stepped near her.

Over time, however, the doctors were able to deactivate the part of her mind that was responsible for her full loyalty to the hivemind. During her medically induced unconsciousness (almost like comatose), they corrected her body, taking out the implants that weren’t needed and replacing the others with the technology that was specific to their time and capabilities. When she awoke, she felt and knew she was different. In the beginning of her reassimilation into society, Captain Montris found it difficult to teach the young woman what she needed to know. He was met with adversity, especially when it came to breaking her of her habits.

Over time, by about the age of seventeen, she was able to control herself, reacting in displeasing ways, only when PTSD was present. She had been mended of her time in the Hive Mind, but she still dealt with the emotional and physical fallout. Knowing he could never return the young woman to her planet, the Captain convinced her to join the Starfleet, knowing her odd intelligence could be used for more than just lounging around, reading article after article, brought to her PaDD by the ship’s LCARS. Finally agreeing, she took up a course in Intelligence, completing the process over the next four years.

After her graduation at 21 years old, or what they assumed her to be, she was assigned to a ship as an ensign, where she went through the ranks of Starfleet, experiencing far more adversity and displeasure than she could have ever assumed. Of course, she was able to persevere through the, mostly unintended, bigotry and unacceptance by the public. Over time, she switched gears between Intelligence and Science, having also gotten a degree in Science (specifically psychobiology and biochemistry) during the academy and the further education afterwards. Eventually, she was asssigned to the Shipyard Serenity, where she remains, as the Executive Officer. The future won’t be easy for Omni, but she is ready to face it.
