Physical Description: Icy blue eyes, somewhat tan skin, pale blond wavy hair to her collarbone. No visible markings.

Family History: El Aurian’s history is wrought with a powerful struggle, first against the Borg and then a fight to repopulate their flagging numbers. In this latter struggle, several factions emerged that were almost zealots about repopulation. The necessity overwhelmed their good sense and many El Aurian women fell victim to rape and forced pregnancy. Zoi’s mother Navoi was one of these women. Before she was rescued by the SS Lakul, she was found to be with child. On board the SS Lakul, the pregnant mother to be was enveloped by the Nexus. Being inside, she could live out her dreams, but being pregnant was a constant reminder that something was wrong and it wasn’t real. Unlike many who were in the Nexus, she had no hope and no way to change her outcome. Due to this, even after being rescued by the Enterprise, Navoi never recovered fully. The insanity of her time in the Nexus envelops her, sometimes worse than others. Sometimes sanity returns. For several years after she gave birth to her daughter, Navoi found some peace. Unfortunately, insanity enveloped her once again.

Zoi found herself without a parent, without any parent. Not knowing what to do, she felt the need to fight along side Star Fleet against the Borg, who’s invasion and assimilation of her people caused the desperation that created her. Sometimes when her mother’s illness gets too great, she is asked to attend Navoi. Zoi then takes long leaves of absence to help her mother. Initially, the results are always good but eventually, the insanity returns and Zoi can help no longer. That is when she returns to Star Fleet.

Once, while serving under Picard on the USS Enterprise, she used her mother’s illness as an excuse to leave Star Fleet. She did not trust the Captain, now former Borg. While on her tour with the Europa, she was transferred to the Dresden with a built in promotion to Chief of Security. Zoi found great difficulty serving with another Borg infested Captain but she did her duty. Once she was hit by the Fear ray, it made it almost impossible to work along side him. Even him touching her had the effect of her shying away from him. Since it was meant to be a short term assignment, at the end of a year, she was transferred to the USS Vanguard for a more permanent assignment.

Medical History: Zoi is very healthy. She has broken her right arm and a few teeth, but they have long since been fixed and working fine. She does have the extra sensory perception, in a fashion, like those of her kind that were in the Nexus, but she does not have the poise or surety that those who lived within the Nexus as an adult would have.

Career History:

2311 - Zoi was 18 and just entering Star Fleet when the Tomed Incident occurred.
2315 - Graduation from Star Fleet Academy - Security. Awarded Marksmanship Commendation
2316 - Assigned to the USS StarGazer
2326 - Transferred to Outpost 181. Promoted to Lt. Jr. G. Awarded Deep Space Service Medal.
2335 - Leave of Absense
2340 - Return to Star Fleet. Assigned to USS Zhukav
2345 - Transferred to the USS Gage aCOS. Promoted to Lt.
2366 - Transferred to USS Enterprise D
2369 - Leave of Absense
2373 - Return to Star Fleet. Assigned to USS Exeter. Fought in the Dominion War. Awarded Purple Heart, Service Commendation
2384 - Transferred to USS Europa
