Personality & Traits
General Overview:
Alison is very curious, constantly asking questions. There are times though that she forgets herself and pushes herself to far in the pursuit of finding the answer. Overall she is a hard worker having to had earn everything in her life.

Hobbies & Interests:
Alison has an interest in botany, and has started doing her own cross breeding of orchids. The goal is to explore the patterns found within the plants, to see if she improve on them.

History
Alison grew up looking up to the stars, always wondering what was out there. From an early age her parents helped to foster her curiosity, pushing her to question and discover what secrets the far reaches of the universe could hold. Her parents never had much, and they wanted more for their daughter, so they pushed her in her studies, nurturing her curiosity and love of science.

As she entered high school it was her biology teacher, Mr. Ardon, that first noticed her tendency to question things. He saw in her the makings of a scientist, a person who is always searching for the answer, and not getting deterred if her hypothesis didn’t work out. He worked with Alison, introducing her to the natural sciences, and the patterns and riddles that were hidden right in front of them. After a visit from the Vulcan consulate, her interest shifted from just what was there to understand on Earth, but also out in the universe.

With a lot of hard work, she earned herself a scholarship to study biology at John Hopkins. She worked as an undergraduate research assistant, studying microorganism adaptations to new environments. Her research led her to Professor Sutton at Harvard University, where she eventually pursued her Masters Degree in exobiology, while working as a research assistant in the Professor’s lab.

Growing up she never had the chance to venture far into space. There was the trip to Luna for her graduation from high school, but that was a special occasion. Even so, space didn’t terrify her, it fascinated her. She wanted to learn more about the other species that were out there, what made them unique, and what secrets were to be told by the far flung planets. After completing her masters degree, Alison joined Starfleet, and was assigned to Starfleet HQ upon completing the Academy as an exobiology specialist. It was here that she started her research into comparative anatomy, working with microorganisms from some of Starfleets earliest allies. Even though she enjoyed her work, the lure of space always tugged at her.
