Character Biography

Hair: Black, cut to short-medium length and loosely tousled style.
Eyes: Standard Ktarian, yellow iris with horizontally slit pupils

Picture of Lieutenant Rovan Moor

Ktarian Facial Features: Ktarians often have varying forehead bumps or ridges. Rovan has a slightly enlarged bone ridge above his eyebrows and a fine ridge that runs from the centre of his nose, up over the forehead ridge and to the base of his hairline.

Skin: Less grey than other Ktarians owing to a distant human ancestry, could almost pass as European.

Born: 2363, On-board the freighter ‘Jaagar’. Ktarians age rapidly during early years, slowing as they get older. By age 6, he was the developmental equivalent of a 10 year old human.

Mother: Pholeia Moor (Ktarian Engineer), deceased. Note- Pholeia’s father was Human.
Father: Lythe Moor (Captain of the Ktarian freighter ‘Jaagar’), deceased.

Marital Status:
Rovan is married to Allison Fleet

Physical:
Rovan stands 5’ 10”, and takes pride in keeping himself physically fit. Thanks to his part-human ancestry, he is able to grow more facial hair than most full blooded Ktarians and has dark eyebrows where the Ktarian eye-ridges would be and long, dark lashes. He also maintains a light stubble, long enough to not look wispy but light enough to be easy to maintain and tidy. He has a narrow, angular jawline and full lips. Ktarian torso skin is also typically tougher than that of humans, having skin on the chest and back similar in strength to light scales. He grows no body hair other than under the arms, as in humans.

Personality:
Confident is a valid descriptions of Rovan Moor. His early years on a freighter and time in Starfleet have taught him the value of teamwork and camaraderie, especially when he was a fighter pilot on the Veracruz. He enjoys cultivating the ‘dashing pilot’ image and has shown on numerous occasions he has the skill to match his confidence.

Interests:
Piloting has been his love since his father taught him how to pilot the ‘Jaagar’ before his 6th birthday, and he spent a lot of time in the ships lone, small shuttle once he was old enough to take it out alone when the freighter was loading and unloading at destinations. He enjoys the mechanical side of ships as well, and can often be found ‘tinkering’ with his assigned shuttle. Off Duty, he is partial to music although he cannot play an instrument, and likes trying out sports from different cultures.

Faults:
Gets bored easily. Rovan is partial to the rush of adrenalin that piloting gives him, and doing nothing for long periods or too much repetition makes him agitated and grumpy. He hates pirates, and has a bloodthirsty streak when it comes to dealing with them due to the loss of his parents to piracy and guilt that he wasn’t there to help.

Education and Background:
Rovan was taught by his parents on board their ship, due to both of them living on board and not having a stable school to attend. There were only a few children on board, so all the adults took turns giving classes specializing in their profession on board the ship, while his father, the Captain, was in charge of basic education. He gave particular attention to his mother as she taught them Engineering skills, and as a reward was allowed to learn to pilot the ship. In this he showed great aptitude and desire, and by the time he was 8 Ktarian years old (around 13 Human years) was a serving pilot on the freighter. Once he was old enough his parents convinced him to apply to Starfleet, to expand his horizons and make a name for himself. Not having a formal education, he needed to pass more in-depth entrance exams, and was able to do so with enough success to be accepted to the Academy.

During his time at the academy he completed his initial four years, becoming a qualified Engineer in the process. After this he made another application for more advanced pilot training. Due to outstanding piloting performance in his initial run through the Academy, he was accepted for more specialized training and completed two more years of this, finally being assigned to a ship, the U.S.S. Saber in 2382 as an Engineer and shuttle pilot. He worked at this role until 2385, when he applied for and received a transfer to the U.S.S. Veracruz as a fighter pilot.

In 2388, due to the loss of his parents freighter to piracy and frustrations about lack of ‘action’ as a fighter pilot on his second ship posting, he reapplied to Starfleet Academy to undergo the Security course so he could re-apply for a regular ship role and be closer to the ‘action’. His application succeeded and he graduated from the Security course in the rare position of now being qualified for two departments and a highly qualified pilot with fighter experience.

Qualifications:
Starfleet Engineering
Starfleet Operations
Starfleet Security
Starfleet Piloting / Small Craft (Advanced)
Starfleet Piloting / Fighter Craft (Advanced)
Starfleet Piloting/ Starship Helm Operations (Advanced)

Medical:
Rovan is fit and healthy. The biggest internal difference between Ktarians and Humans is the Ktarian 8-chambered heart. This has a unique sound, described like an EM field vibrating against a ships hull. His part-human anatomy has integrated well with his Ktarian, and he suffered no ill effects.

Recent History:
In 2394 Rovan was dispatched on a covert mission. This mission was strictly off-record and had the cover of Rovan being assigned to the Veracruz for special flight duties, however he underwent surgery and took the fictional identity of Traylin Uhr. Traylin was created as a ruthless and calculating Ktarian revolutionary who was involved in smuggling weapons, piracy and supporting Ktarian separatists. With his ship, a fast and nimble blockade runner he called Serenity, Traylin, working on his own and always in danger, became a central figure in the Ktarian Separatist Front who were fighting Ktarian government forces keeping Ktaria in the Federation despite pressure from the Separatists to leave. As events came to a head, Traylin betrayed the Separatists, exposing their operational bases and bringing the struggle to a bloody end. Rovan was then brought out of his false identity and underwent surgery once more, being placed back into active duty on the Athena where he reconnected with Allison Fleet, a Human he had met on the USS Genesis and thought lost to a coma in an accident. She had recovered during his time undercover and had no word of her recovery until he was once more Rovan Moor. Shortly afterwards, the two became engaged.
