Physical:
Hair the color of autumn leaves, and down to her hips, it is her most prominent feature. She wears it up in a french braid ending in a small bun at the base of her neck when she is working.
A natural runner, she has a trim physique that is also as compact and strong as it is lean and limber. She runs for fun and to clear her head and likes almost anything physical and since joining the Academy has a fascination with the work out styles and combat trainings of other species. She wants to some day be as proficient with a bat’leth as she is with a medical procedure.
She is about 5‘7 and weighs about 175 lbs. There isn’t an ounce of useless fat on her and she is often envied by those who see her body and then see her eating dessert in double helpings.
Personality:
Karina has a love of life and preserving it. Her professional hobby is the study of long lived species and trying to find ways to use that knowledge to aid the human race.
She is quick with a joke, and often the first to make folks laugh when tensions get tough. She knows the mind and body work better when endorphins of pleasure are more prominent than fear.
Interests:
Her two biggest hobbies, besides running which is more ritual than hobby, are foreign weapons and longevity therapies that include possible cures to illnesses still rampant in the human population.
Flaws:
Driven… when she is unsure of something, or does something wrong, she will go to great lengths to remedy it. Lose sleep with studying, go numb with repetitive exercises, sometimes even drive others insane with pestering them on how she could have been better, CAN be better, and make up for the negative action or answer in the past. Failure drives her to the point of almost killing herself to see it doesn’t occur again.

Medical & Related Background:
Usual childhood illnesses.
Fell under ice when skating, age 5. Hypothermia at time. No long term adverse after affects. (besides phobia of deep/large bodies of water.
Sprained ankle in Academy running for track team at Finals. No long term adverse affects.
No other major injuries.
Service History:
Current Assignment - back on USS Athena
6 mnths on Dinari Outpost, Station 6 to help install a new Ambassador (reason for absence from the board)
1 year - USS Athena for first posting
4 yrs – Star Fleet Academy/Medical program (changed major to alien physiology/minor in human biology)
2 yrs – Premed, considering pediatrics (Lead Doc at NY hospital recommends her to SF Academy)
