History: Lake was born in 2365 after a very difficult labor. The doctor was very surprised when she came out of her mother encased in the caul that hadn’t torn. Many cultures believe that this by being born this way he or she has some “special” powers. Those powers can range from leadership abilities to natural healers or having greater insight. The Dr had to use a laser scalpel to open the membrane and free the child. She was raised at the family home in Boothbay Harbor, right on the coast. She has three older brothers who let her pal around with them when they would go out on the ocean in their Freedom 335 dual console boat and spend the day fishing (and releasing) and diving.
Life in Boothbay didn’t offer the excitement Lake craved. She was determined to find a way out and discovered medicine and psychology at a young age. Realizing it was her ticket to a more dramatic and thrilling life, she buckled down with her studies and graduated high school at sixteen. She applied to Starfleet academy in 2381 without telling her parents, and was accepted immediately into their counseling program.

Graduating in 2385, Lake was assigned to the USS Glory as a psych Cadet. The USS Glory was a heavy cruiser that saw plenty of action. There were many casualties with varying traumas that made their way through counseling and the surgical units. In 2388, Cadet Holway was reassigned to a colony world on Uphrates IV. There she worked under Lt Maynard Bowman, a genius with holistic medicine and a brilliant surgeon where she was able to improve her medical skills greatly.

Because of her excellent grasp of psychology, Lake was promoted to LTjg in 2389. It is her intention to become a ship’s head counselor.

In 2393, she finally attained the position.
