Character Biography

Personal History

Born in 2368 to Strom and Aissa on Vulcan, Saatynn had a typical first few years of life. It was at the age of 4 that he began to question the detachment from his emotions.

While he’d force himself to remain stoic and protected in public, behind closed doors, Saatynn embraced the emotions his people fought to hide, and this made him almost an outcast from his peers at an early age.

At the age of 7, shortly after his true nature came out, his parents chose a neighbor’s daughter, Linna, a child who was predicted to be very logical as an adult, to be his mate. This was the first of many attempts to “cure” their son of his desire to embrace emotions.

By 10, Saatynn was truly an outcast, bullied by peers for his choice of lifestyle, but he would later let these experiences shape his philosophy that “no one should feel that alone”

When he was reaching the age of adulthood, his father expressed what many Vulcans felt of him: there was little chance of him being able to get a posting on Vulcan in any form. It was this that prompted him to leave Vulcan for Earth.

Service Record

Arriving on Earth sometime between 17 and 18, Saatynn worked for approximately 6 months in a bar located 13 miles from Starfleet academy. This would later be his “fall back” job should he fail out of Starfleet.

At the age of 18, Saatynn enrolled in Starfleet academy, passing the entrance exam easily, a “shocking achievement” to his Vulcan instructors do to his stance on emotions and logic. He would later go on to claim he studied very intensely, for it would be illogical for anyone to try and pass the exam without studying, or even taking a practice test.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Starfleet academy with a focus on Science, he was assigned to Earth Starbase, as a normal science officer, secretly this was an attempt by his superiors to “shield him” from the Vulcans in much of the fleet, who might look upon him with disdain.
