Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk (VOID)

Character Biography

Born in 2373 to Dorian and Hannah Jones, Arthur had a bit of a normal start to life (as normal as you can get being born on a starship). In 2377, when he was 4, Arthur and his parents move to a different Starship, that was working close to Klingon space.

A year later, that ship, the USS Hawaii, encountered a damaged Klingon ship that had drifted into Federation space through the Neutral Zone. An away team, lead by the XO of the Hawaii, transported over to the Klingon vessel, where they encountered the 15 surviving crew members. Among them was Ruk, who had originally been second officer, but was now in command of the crew.

The XO wanted to kill them, citing violations of the Khitomer Accords and peace treaties. Despite having a 5 year old son waiting for them to come home, Dorian and Hannah actively resisted and disobeyed orders, Dorian, who was trained in Security, tried to wrestle the phaser the XO was carrying (which was set to kill), out of his hand. The phaser went off, killing Dorian instantly, and when the XO turned it on the Klingons, Hannah rushed him, effectively knocking him off target. She soon suffered a similar fate to her husband, but not before drawing the attention of the Klingons.

As soon as she fell, the Klingons rushed the away team, severely injuring many of them and destroying their weapons. The XO was barely able to beam them out of there alive.

Attention on the ship soon turned to young Arthur, who no longer had parents on board the ship, and would be a bit of a nuisance to take care of (as the XO is quoted to have said.) It was decided he would be beamed over to the Klingon ship, and told his parents chose to just the Klingon Empire.

Upon his arrival on the ship, Arthur immediately began trying to wake up his parents, crying for them to wake up. Ruk saw this whole engagement, and after confirming the Hawaii had warped out, he decided that he’d take him in, since his parents died with honor trying to protect him and the crew.

Arthur was raised from the age of 5 as a Klingon warrior, and became quite skilled with a Bat’leth and a knife. When he passed his Rite of Ascension, Arthur announced to his adopted father his intent to join Starfleet.

Ruk wasn’t overjoyed of his son’s choice, but he didn’t oppose it, instead telling him to always fight with honor and remember that he’ll always have a home with Ruk and his wife, Uyanna on Qo’NoS, and to visit whenever he had leave in the area.

15 years–and several accolades–later, Arthur returned to Qo’NoS, to a mixed reception. At first, many didn’t trust him, due to being human, but when he regarded them with his tales, and how he fought in the name of both the Federation and the Klingon Empire with honor, they began to welcome him.

A year later, Arthur met J’astim, Daughter of Krayr, and was immediately taken with her. He’d quickly find out she also enjoyed his company, and by the end of their first meeting, they had both committed to each other.

The following year-long betrothal period (requested by Ruk to prepare some sort of special gift for Arthur) was filled with traditional Klingon rituals, battles, and rites. J’astim had to prove herself to Uyanna, and many of the older warriors would mock-attack Arthur, making him learn the mock battle from the wedding.

After a long year, the pair were married, in a large ceremony that made their entire house party and drink heartily. The two settled down on Qo’NoS for several years, ultimately having 2 children, Thon and Kros, both boys.

Three years later, when Thon was 2 and Kros just turning a year old, the pair moved to OED V, where Arthur opened up a fitness studio and martial arts dojo, to teach self defense, Klingon martial arts, and general fitness, to help people get and stay in shape.
