Family:
Mathias’s parents were part of a group of colonists who formed a new settlement on the jungle world of Ravis IV, which they did before Mathias or his younger siblings were born. His oldest sister, Ciara, is five years younger and a medical lieutenant junior grade. His twin siblings, Julian and Lucille are eight years younger and are both science ensigns. The children were exposed to Starfleet officers who were on terraforming missions or delivering medical supplies from time to time. The concept of being one of them who went off and explored the galaxy was irresistible to Mathias, and his dream of one day becoming a Starfleet captain rubbed off on them enough to inspire them to join Starfleet as well. Or perhaps they wanted to prove they could run off and do it just as well as he could. Since being transferred to Outpost 42, his mother and siblings have all followed him there one at a time, with his brother and sisters eventually transferring to other assignments. It’s unknown exactly how Mathias has survived being on the outpost with his mother present as long as he has.
Starfleet Career:
2384: Graduated Starfleet Academy, Placed as ensign and helmsman on U.S.S. Juliet.
2387: Transferred to U.S.S. Kepler. Promoted to lieutenant junior grade with position of operations officer.
2389: Promoted to lieutenant and chief operations officer on U.S.S. Kepler.
2392: Promoted to lieutenant commander and transferred to Outpost 42 as first officer.
2393: Promoted to captain of Outpost 42.
