Mother: Dr Catherine Shandy of Climatology

She was sent to live with her grandparents a the age of three.

Reia never knew her Orion father save for the few pictures her Human grandparents allowed her to keep. She was sent to live with them at the age of three after her mother, a rising climatologist, was institutionalized for reasons Reia herself doesn’t know to this day.

Growing up on the coast of Australia, Reia grew into an active quick witted young woman who never relied on the Orion side of her genetics to get her anywhere in life. It was a part of her that she preferred to suppress but, upon entering the Academy, she realized it could be put to good use though it still troubles her greatly.

The Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry was awarded to Reia for preventing the poisoning of an Admiral during the final peace negotiations between the WYN Star Cluster and the Lyran Star Empire.
