Physical Description:
Lardel is typical of his species, shorter and broad shouldered with a thick musculature. Dark red hair, cut short, and black eyes. A scar runs diagonal from the center of his forehead across his right eye and to mid-cheek.
Medical History:
Multiple fractures and contusions litter his medical file. Significant injuries include multiple broken ribs and simultaneous fractures of both femurs (crash-related); Concussion and severe head trauma (impact from crash); Severe facial scarring (see above) From <REDACTED>
Psychological Profile:
Krin Lardel is the epitome of the Zakdorn species. Overly confident to the verge of arrogance and possessing an unwavering sense of superiority as to his own abilities with regards to tactical and warfare arenas. This arrogance spills over into his interpersonal relationships; especially those who he views as ‘inferior’. Oddly for a Marine Officer, this view is applied at least somewhat to those he refers to as “ground-pounders”; or infantry and non-aviator Marines. It should be noted that while he expresses scorn for those Marines, he does not tolerate any non-Marine doing so.
His arrogance and confidence is supported by the fact that the subject does indeed possess an incredible capacity for combat analysis and tactical planning, and his education and service record only bolster this further. While many have criticized the subject for such personality traits; almost all have had to, at some point, acknowledge the subject’s incredible capabilities. This is an interaction that the subject tends to revel in, much to the irritation and chagrin of those in such a position to him.
Biography:
Born the second child of his parents, Krin was always in his older brother’s shadow. Separated in age by two standard years, by the time the two siblings had entered secondary school they had developed an immense rivalry as to ‘who was best’. This was intensified by the fact that each possessed a high degree of skill in what the Zakdorn species is most known for: tactics.
Both were selected for the prestigious Zakdorn Tactical College, each finishing a year early with nearly identical records. The older brother was then selected to Star Fleet Academy, and this is where the brother’s path’s diverged for the first time. Krin applied to and was accepted into the Star Fleet Marine Academy Officer Candidate School. While his brother continued in his pursuit of war game theory, Krin opted (for reasons he has not shared with anyone) to pursue the practical application of combat and tactical analysis. Graduating at the top of his class, he was selected for Aviator training and was in the top five percent upon graduation.
The rivalry with his brother continued, however. Each pursed difficult assignments and advanced training with a zeal few could manage… and even fewer could maintain over the course of a career. While his brother Gral was selected into the Intelligence Division of Star Fleet, Krin was assigned to an Expeditionary Force. It was here that Krin truly came into his own as both an officer and a Marine Aviator. Learning the intricacies of not only piloting and directing fighter operations, Lardel spent a truly impressive time with the maintenance teams. So much so that he is one of only a few Aviators simultaneously qualified as an Aviation Mechanic.
While on operations, Krin’s squadron was a key element in the defense and repulsion of Syndicate pirates on several remote colonies; and they were a key to the success of the Siege Of Ahiht. It was here that Ktin first met a young Andorian pilot named Siraa sh’Rharror. Lardell was present when she outmanuveered and destroyed a key enemy unit, and he was impressed enough that he recommended her to the Mar8ne Academy, telling her own Commander that her skills were “… being wasted and underutilized because you, General, can’t see the bigger picture if it slapped your mother in the mouth.”
So effective was his fighter wing under his direction that the Syndicate had a bounty placed on all of their heads. The bounty stood for two years before it was rescinded. It was never collected on any member of his team. Several attempts were made, both in space and planet-side. But now Lardel’s savvy was such that each attempt was recognized and circumvented. On such attempt resulted in Lardel being noticed by Force Commander Hayes, and Hayes requested Lardel be transferred to Star Base One at Earth. Serving as the lead Air Traffic Control Officer, Lardel was additionally tasked with <**REDCATED>
His tenure up on Earth One, Lardel was selected to join Marine Force Reconnaissance. Here he was instrumental in planning and executing insertion and extraction of Force Recon assets from mission areas. Lardel achieved a flawless record during this time. His time was cut short due to an incident during an operation. While all assets, including Lardel, were rescued; <REDCATED>
Lardel’s record after the incident is one of intensive training and greater responsibility. Several Executive Officer postings, as well as a tenure as an instructor at the Marine Academy (assigned there to recover form injuries sustained in operations aboard the USS Grigor), show an officer who is both adept and skilled in combat; as well as an effective leader and mentor.
Lardel is currently assigned as the Commanding Officer of the 214th Marine Air / Space Wing attached to the newly rechristened USS Chimera.
