General History:
Ben entered Starfleet Academy aged 17 and graduated as a pilot after 4 years. It was during his time that he met the man who he would go on to marry. His first posting out of the Academy was to Outpost 45 (which was later renamed to Starbase Magellan). As a pilot he excelled with both the smaller vessels and the larger USS Triniton. Whilst visiting Ben on the Outpost, his father and partner had a heated argument during which a Ben’s father produced a large knife. Upon intervening, Ben sustained a lifethreatening wound which resulted in an artificial heart being installed. Ben was transferred away from the Outpost for his own safety until his father could be tracked down and be held accountable for his actions. Ben would carry the physical and mental scars for life.

On the whole, Ben’s career had no particular outstanding moments. He always seemed to be comfortable in his spouse’s shadow. Since his promotion to Commander he had held numerous short term commands - Taking a ship here or there to her new captain, ‘caretaking’ during shore leave and accompanying cadets on training flights, but his first permanent command was the Magellan, where his career began.
