Professor Grinnch

Character Biography

Professor Grinnch is a noted Medical Research Scientist, lauded on his home world of Tellar for his work in the field of emergency trauma and transplant surgery.

Short and rotund, even for a Tellarite, Professor Grinnch makes up for his lack of stature with an overbearing personality and an ego to match. He is of middle age and wears his hair and beard long and wild, his beard generally loosely plaited in a half hearted attempt to at least keep it out of his dinner. His hair and beard are dark in colour with patches of grey starting to show. A small tusk pokes from each side of his lower jaw.

The Professor is most famous for the development of the ‘Grinnch Procedure’, a revolutionary surgical method invoking the use of transporters to fuse flesh and organs at the molecular level, reducing recovery time and risk of infection.

He is currently seeking the backing of Star Fleet Medical to develop the MKII Grinnch Transporter Apparatus specifically for shipboard use. It is felt by the board that if the technique can be adapted for use aboard ships of the fleet, it would greatly assist crew readiness, allowing injured crew to return to duty much faster, especially useful on long exploration missions where replacement crew may not be available.
