K’Resh

Character Biography

K’Resh was born in 2357 on Qo’noS to Ji’Nak & Mok’Tal and is the eldest of 3. Her brothers Matuh and L’Usuk both serve proudly on Klingon warships.

As a teenager, K’Resh was pushed to follow the path of a Klingon warrior but she soon found that she was more suited to a life in engineering. Although still fiercely proud of her heritage, as she became of age she was one of a small group of young Klingons who felt that their people needed to embrace a new, more diplomatic approach to other races which soon caused tension amongst her family and ultimately led to her being disowned and exiled from Qo’noS.

For several years she became a drifter and worked on salvage ships and various remote outposts. For the most part she was a loner, shutting herself from others and living a life of solitude until she came across a young star-fleet Lt during a salvage mission. Lt Kalun had been stranded after his shuttle has crash landed following a fierce battle with a Romulan warbird and K’Resh agreed to help him repair his vessel.

Kalun was impressed with her skill in engineering and the two became unlikely friends. It was the first time since being forced into exile that K’Resh felt like she could belong somewhere and with Kalun’s recommendation, she applied to the academy.

Although she sometimes struggled with her Klingon temper, she was well accustomed to working with other races and following her graduation she relished the chance to work on something more that a rickety scow.

She spent 2 years on the USS Michigan where her knowledge of alien systems proved invaluable although her gruff Klingon nature didn’t always go down well with her colleagues. She was promoted to Lt (jg) and posted to the USS Trafalgar as a senior systems specialist, working closely with the CE, Lt Commander Raleigh. When the posting of Chief Engineer came up on the Endeavour, she didn’t think much of it. Although she was an expert in multiple areas of engineering but thought of teaching new cadets initially didn’t appeal to her. Seeing something in her, Lt Cmdr Raleigh encouraged her to apply. Having observed her with many junior crewmen, Raleigh knew that K’Resh was a good teacher, even if she didn’t realise it herself. Although a little apprehensive when she got the posting, K’Resh viewed it as a new challenge and accepted the transfer.
