GMD Report Sept/Oct 2018
Overall Stats: (as of November 18th, 2018)
- 25 RP Environments (does not include Oed V as a self-sim RPG or X-Fleet)
- 13 Active GMs (includes 2 GMT placements & 2 GMs currently over their GMing limits)
- 2 GMMs (Gamemaster Mentors), with two incoming
Vacancies:
USS Saracen
USS Asimov (at end of current sim)
*USS Atlantis (new GM sought for new year)
GMT Program:
-Ian Kerby: Ian’s sim is on its very last moments and should be done shortly.
-Christopher Bennett: The sim is still moving slow, but he’s reached the 1st eval point and the GMD has initiated the evaluation process.
We lost two GMTs due to real life circumstances, as often happens, and those account for two of our GM vacancies.
Prospective GMs:
We have interest in the exam, and people still working on it, but I know some are waiting for the new rewritten course and exam.
Gamemaster Mentors
I am in the process of writing new GMM Guidelines that will be enforced by the GMD throughout the GMT process to ensure that we have excellent mentorship for our trainees. When those are done, I have two people willing to be GMMs and they will be added to the list once they’ve agreed to the new guidelines.

I’m going to re-post this once more in case people missed my announcement: One of the casualties of the switch was the Submission Form that everyone uses to submit sim, GMT and GMM info. It’s broken and can’t be fixed. I’ve talked about it and our solution here: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/command/gmd/notes/1398/.
*GM Course & Exam
The course portion has gone through its first review in the GMD. Draft Two will be posted once revisions are made and hopefully if that all looks good, we’ll look to posting the exam for review.
Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
We have revamped some old info announcements for GMs and FComms/COs. These will be posted to the GMD shortly and posted in the News. These need to be posted at regular intervals to keep members both new and older alike reminded of the processes and important details they might need to know about the GMD.
Overall GMD Status:
We have several projects underway as mentioned above. And though it’s disappointing to lose GMTs, it’s normal and I am working to make sure our GMT program continues to move forward and build our pool of GMs. The last couple months have been busy personally for the GMD staff, so we’re just regrouping to make sure progress is made on our various projects.
