TECH’s bylaw requires that we make reports any time that public-facing changes to the site software are made, in order to document exactly what was changed. This is what we did in December and the very beginning of January (there were no changes in October or November not previously documented):

Critical patch to fix a bug in the report submission page that only occurs at
the end of December / beginning of January.
I do have one note about this recent set of updates regarding reports. This last bug was needlessly difficult for us to fix because nobody reported the issue to us, even though a handful of users did run into it. It is incredibly frustrating to review server logs and find out that several people ran into a problem that 100% of COs, XOs, and GMs were going to run into and simply not care at all to tell anybody about it. This is the second time that this has happened with reporting specifically, and the third time with errors of the same sort that happened to reports. If this apathetic behavior continues then I may start providing the names of users who don’t report these issues to Fleet Commanders or the President with the recommendation that they be fired from the relevant command positions for being lazy and negligent.
Given that, I will repeat what I have said in previous updates: If you ever see a message that says “Server Error (500)” or something similar, that means there is some problem on the server and you should please report this to TECH immediately.
Finally, the President has asked for a report from TECH to be published at the end of January. We will do so and go over some of the other things that we’re doing.
