The Black Fleet Report - December 2018

USS Europa

Commanding Officer: Joe P

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Considering that limits were relaxed and lots of people were busy with the holidays, we’re actually doing OK. People kept posting through the break, and we’re ready to start the next phase of the sim shortly.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: We are in the market for a Chief of Security, though the position may be filled by the time this report is published.
There we would also like JOs of every variety.

Executive Officer: Janice B.

Crew Posting Level: 10
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: First off, I want to say I hope everyone has had a good time during their holidays. As they draw to a close, the Europa aims to get back to its original time limits and continue the present Sim. I will say while looking over the various threads, most the crew has managed to do well in keeping up with their quota despite the busy time. This makes me very proud.

Last we left off in the main Sim, the CO and XO had left the Admiral’s with information over the strange happenings and orders to explore the unknown beyond the base. The experience has left them with more questions than answers as they discuss what their next step should be. Meanwhile, the crew continues to get the sense something is wrong during their down time at the bar and grill.

Spotlight: None

Vacancies: The Europa is looking for Junior Officers in all departments and a new CoS. Any interested parties should contact either JoeP or myself in the discord or through Email with your character idea ready to present.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Europa stayed active during the relaxed posting for the holidays. The ship is running smoothly, and I don’t see any issues. The Europa could use a few JOs as both the CO and XO stated, so reach out to them if you’re interested!

USS Genesis

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: As with most ships the posting has dipped during the holiday break… less so with the Genny than most, but it still was noticeable. On another note, I personally find it tragic that we are losing our long term Captain, prior XO, and our long time leader Julia who has done more for the ship in the past decade than anyone on any ship any where. I certainly wish this was not happening… I know I speak for everyone when I say she will be sorely missed.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Jules is excused from the CO report. Our search for a new CO is coming to an end, as we received a few applications. Hopefully we’ll have one in place by the end of the week!

USS Merrimack

Commanding Officer: David Fergusson

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: It has been a slow month. Some long LOAs for Thanksgiving and Christmas, illness and real life problems. Even Marthese had to take time out for sickness, but not for long! The Sim had only just begun, so we are into the first of the crew lectures to the Academy cadets. Tinga is up first and getting some cadet questions regarding communications and translation. She is doing well, considering she just joined the ship and was thrown in at the deep end. Captain Glen has visited Admiral Bradbury, who has asked him to make an inspection of Red Squad in a rather odd meeting, with some serious undertones and the Admiral acting strangely. He will need to get to the bottom of that, but he wants to visit his son in Paris during this leave too. Tiastri has found her space legs as the new CE and has been having dinner with the CO Kord. There has also been the tail end of a crew party, in which almost all partook, and in which many secrets were revealed under the influence of alcohol and music. Cross and Jasper have also been having a deep and meaningful liaison. Now that Robert is back we should pick up more speed again.

Spotlight: This month I’ve got to give it to Marthese. Even when ill she keeps the threads going. There wouldn’t have been a Merrimack without her plugging away. However, the posts from all the crew, but especially Melissa and James are of an exceptionally high standard.

Vacancies: Junior officers, swings and custom positions. Please contact the CO directly.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: The Merrimack chugs along great this past month! Sim wise they return to earth and have begun giving their presentations to Starfleet Cadets

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: No issues here :)

Oed V

Commanding Officer: Tony Findora

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: We had many LOAs for December which, as I had a feeling might happen, significantly slowed things down. With everything returning to normal for January, I suspect that numbers will be back to what they were.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: We are looking for a Head of Mining and a Head of Medical and Social Services

Executive Officer: Sidney Parker

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The holidays had their usual impact on OED. Add that to a loss of a few key players before that and OED is not in bad shape but not going gangbusters either.

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Could use some more JOs and civilians, but no major issues :)

USS Olympic

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Terry Sullivan

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Things did stall a little bit as our GM was on leave for a little bit during the beginning of the new year. Between that and his name disappearing from the roster, there was a little bit of panic on my part. But after contacting Josh, everything was okay, just a little bit of miusnderstanding. It’s all good.

We’re getting closer to finding out how the Mirror Universe people got on board and how long they’ve been there. Unfortunately, we lost a couple of important crew members with the last month. The big problem is we don’t know how many “others” there are right now, and paranoia is starting to set in among the crew. The aCO/XO (me!) is trying to keep everybody calm without getting the bridge all shot up.

First we lost our Chief Science officer due to a promotion on another ship, and he had to cut back. It happens, no hard feelings we were lucky enough to get the position filled pretty quickly as Trinity Fister has joined us a the new CSO. It’s going to be interesting to see how this reserved character fits in with the rest of the crew. I’m sure behind trinity’s keyboard, she’ll be just fine.

The second loss was much more significance. Because of family commitments, D grisham has had to step down as our CO. I owe D a thank you for asking me to join the ship as her XO a couple of years ago. I’ve enjoyed being under her command and sincerely hope things go well and she will be able to retun to the club in the not too distant future!!

Spotlight: The whole crew is doing a great job staying involved as we get everything figured out. Keep up the great work people.

Vacancies: First and foremost, we need a new Captain!!! If interested send your application into the Black Fleet Commander Ray Branch or his assistant, Tony Findora. If you feel ready to step up and plop down in the big chair, this could be your chance. The Oly has a great command staff to drive a new CO crazy.

We could also use JO’s in all departments. Our ranks have started to run a bit thin and could use some new blood.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Our search for a CO is coming to an end, so hopefully we’ll have one in place by the end of the week. Thank you Terry for stepping up as aCO!

USS Wolverine

Commanding Officer: Terry Sullivan

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Things are plugging along just fine on the Wolverine. we’re about to make contact with a trader in the Delta quadrant who will hopefully have some good info for us about the Underspace. So far, not a whole lot has gone right on this mission: have the crew is incapacitated due to severe virus, others have their DNA mixed up from a faulty transporter.

Once we make contact with the trader, we’ll be implementing Cmdr. Well Improbabability Drive in an effort to restore DNA to its’ proper owner. What could go wrong, right? Knowing all the curveballs our GM has thrown at us so far, I don’t expect anything else to go smooth. Along with the II drive, a new AI was installed to regulate thigs. Goota love the personality of “Eddie”, he’s a perfect contrast to our grumpy, conniving, cantankerous CE. Time for a taste of his own medicine.

We have added a few new crew members this month, a new Security JO, and a Federation Security Liaison. Both characters have interesting backgrounds and should fit in quite well with our happy little dysfunctional family. Can’t wait to see what trouble they stir up.

Spotlight: Everybody continues to do a great job with side sims, character development and staying busy in the main sim. The new members have jumped right in and gotten involved and continue to impress me.

Vacancies: We could use some JO’s in engineering and medical. With the new additions, we’ve got a full security department, which is great!!! Engineering JO would be helpful for the fact that our CE needs to take credit for someone else’s work. or someone (besides the captain) to blame when all hell breaks loose.

Executive Officer: Ray Branch

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The medical condition of the crew has come one step closer to being solved. Elsewhere a Federation Security Officer has boarded the ship, which is going to add a bit more tension to the already exhausted crew. Hopefully, the CO can get a few answers to everything that’s going on around the ship.

AWOLS and LOAs are at a low, which is great to see… and posting has picked up! We do need more JOs in Eng and Sci, which I’m sure won’t be hard to find once people see how awesome the Wolverine is :)

Spotlight:

Vacancies: JOs in Science and Engineering. Maybe a few specialties in Security too!

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: See XO Report please :)

Black Fleet Overall:

FComm: I’m pleased to announce that Luke Hung as been appointed as CO of the USS Genesis, and Chris Bennett as CO of the USS Olympic.
