The Infinite Fleet Report - February 2019

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Excused LOA

Executive Officer: Sam Pennington

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6

Ship Status: The sim is making solid progress. There’s good characterisation going on. Posting has been relatively consistent after we recovered from the inevitable holiday slowdown.

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Senior Staff Posting Level: 4

Sim Overview: The sim is progressing slowly. The Away team has picked up marine back-up and that helped them breach the Orion captured strong hold of the Mines of Nelay. The Orion raider has been driven off for now and a Starship is on its way for support. The bridge crew has a plan to uncover the spy. All thing told, a nice pick up of pace and threads on a sim.

AFComm’s Comments: The crew are adjusting well both IC & OOC to the change of CO - Philip is excused of his report due to his current LOA. At the time of writing these comments the roster is looking really healthy and the sim is progresssing well.

I would like to thank everyone here for their work in what us usually a slower month of the year.

USS Constellation

Commanding Officer: Louis Harvatt

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: =/\= Report Started: 22/01/2019 =/\=

=/\= Report Complete: 09/02/2019 =/\=

The following is my first fleet report as captain of the USS Constellation following my appointment on January 7th 2019. Following my appointment as a commanding officer, I began a quick analysis of the ship in order to determine its current condition. Upon first glance, there were 10 characters rostered. Out of the 10 characters rostered at the time, there were 4 members in the green a further four AWOL and 2 on LOA. Sadly, following communications with some of the crew we lost 4 members of the ship those been the Chief of Operations, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Science Officer and Councillor. I am happy to say that this was swiftly rectified. I have since brought aboard a new Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Operations, Councillor and engineering junior officer. Following the above additions, we now have a total roster count of 13 members those broken down into 3 command staff, 6 Department Heads, 1 Swing Department Head and 3 Junior Officers.

In addition to this, I have introduced a new MOTD to the ship compared to the old MOTD this one is smarter and clearer using a basic black, grey colour scheme thus making no colours to bright to view or information hard to read. Furthermore, on the 21 January 2019, I distributed a questionnaire allowing the crew to answer questions that will allow myself to obtain more information on the current crew and their history onboard the ship and for them to provide me with any suggestions or concerns that they may have. So far, I have received 5 complete questionnaires so far and as stated in the questionnaire I’m aiming to contact each individual crew member regarding there questionnaire responses and provide them with further information on the topics they requested whilst completing the form. As of this report’s completion, the USS Constellation has so far had a total of 131 posts during the month of January.

In conclusion, it is my opinion that overall it has been a good month for the USS Constellation with both myself and the newest members of the crew settling in and submitting their check-in posts although the main sim is currently moving at a slower than usual pace, I am hoping to see that the sim picks up its pace over the next few weeks. Work on the USS Constellation’s ship history page is now comnplete and all information that was required for it has been extrapolated and introduced into its relevant place within the project. I have also completed the modifications to the MOTD something that I originally invisioned would take 6 weeks. Furthermore, Lindsay Bayes is working on designing a new banner for the ship so thank you Lindsay for all your help.

Spotlight: This month I would like to issue the report spotlight to the full crew and thank them for there continued support and hard work during the transition of a new commanding officer and new department heads. Once again thank you to the full crew of the USS Constellation.

Vacancies: A full list of the USS Constellation’s vacancies can be found on the ship profiles page. I am also looking to create and bring aboard swing positions varying from bartenders to entertainments hosts. I would also like to extend the invitation for members of the club to contact me proposing swing positions you would possibly like to role play. I am always open to hearing about and discussing positions of any kind.

Executive Officer: Liam Schoepp

Ship Status: The ship right now is doing splendidly, under the command of our new CO, the Connie is back into the full swing of things and ready to blow up some planets… I mean go save the day!!!!

Spotlight: Spotlight for this month goes to Travis Good for somehow managing to make be believe that a Ferengi of all people is the CMO of a ship. Honestly I can’t wait to see how this pans out.

Vacancies: Right now we could use some more Junior officers, perhaps 1 or 2 for each category.

Gamemaster: Excused LOA

FComm’s Comments: With the new placement of Louis as CO we have seen an influx of both crew and posting on the Connie though not movement in the sim yet. I think once Phil get’s done his rl course and gets caught up then I hope to see things move along better. I have great hopes for the Connie under Louis so am watching her with great interest.

Starbase Magellan

Commanding Officer: Amber DeSadier

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: This month started out slow as everyone got back from the holidays, but we have definitely been getting back on track. We are now a good way into our sim and everyone is engaged. We got a new CSO but we haven’t been able to put him to use yet. We have someone coming on board to spice things up with a brawl! We have a few characters who might be joining in the next month or two.

Ship Status: Overall the simm has been happily moving along. There was a bit of a slowdown as we waited for Geoff to reply about major items. However, it looks like we are back into the swing of things, and moving along!

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Sim Overview: Geeze! People have really been embracing the sim and going with it. Almost to the point that it is hard for me to keep up with the threads but I think I am managing so far. I would estimate that we are about 75% of the way through the sim, and I expect resolution by the end of March. I don’t for see any reason for a schedule slide at this point.

Spotlight: Names that are no strangers to spotlights: Trinity Fister and Krys McLean. These two ladies created their own medical thread off of my seed of a plot and have run with it. Love seeing this kind of self starting RP.

AFComm’s Comments: The crew have been posting extremely well here over the last month making keeping up with reading the posts both a challenge & a pleasure- the chemistry between the crew and the GM is fantastic so well done Geoff.

USS Viking

Commanding Officer: Amanda Mercer

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: The away team has had an unfortunate turn of events. A creature found, a head falling out from under a console on the bridge and now a fire. Will they be able to make it back to the viking before it’s to late.

Meanwhile on the Viking a stranger has arrived in engineering, only to disappear when the crew goes to investigate.

Has the effects of the nebula already began affecting the crew, or is it the Viking her self causing chaos.

Executive Officer: Jim Watkin

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Sim progress is a little slow without much input from the GM and also the shipboard main sim thread is stalling without being pushed by the CO. Overall I am happy with the posting level and quality of those that are posting, but not everyone is getting themselves involved in the main sim.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Joshua Ezell

Crew Posting Level: 10
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: The crew have started into the Ambassador class this that is trapped on the edge of the Devil’s Home Nebula. They have encountered some rather odd occurances, even for the Viking. A crew member has also been injured by a rather large wolf like being near engineering of the ship and on the bridge they found a severed head. What other wonders await them in the bowls of this ship, much less this nebulae?

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: Posts have definitely increased on the Viking this last month as Josh continues the sim. It looks to be a very interesting if scary sim as we check out a ghost ship. The Viking has always been good with side sims but I am very happy to finally see the main sim moving.
