Starfleet Academy Report - June 2018

Overall the switch over to Exodus was relatively seamless in the Academy. My COs handled informing their crews and making adjustments as necessary.

This month at the department level we continue to discuss the Mentor’s Policy, which will apply to anyone in the club wishing to be a mentor. If you have any interest in this very vital program, please visit the Academy Campus Boards and participate in the conversation. We’d love to hear from you!

Beyond that, I have nothing else noteworthy to report.

USS Challenger

Commanding Officer: Ray Branch

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The Challenger has received the cargo from a suspicious Fleet Captain. While the XO, CSO, and the Engineering Dept try to figure out what’s inside the cargo, the Captain has the ship flying to a nebula that the shields are unable to penetrate. The CO’s plan is to stall long enough to see what’s inside the cargo before it has to be delivered.

The switch to the new site was rather smooth for the ship. We did lose a CMO due to eLOA, but we’ve found one minutes after the vacancy was posted.

Spotlight: I’d like to shine a light on a great GM. He was able to save all of the threads and continue the sim seamlessly .

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Overall the Challenger made the move pretty smoothly and we are back up and running! The crew seems to have made the transition well, and thanks to the hard work of James and Geoff, everything moved over like clockwork.

Spotlight: James Sinclair and Geoff Joosten this month for helping to move over everything to get the Challenger back up and running.

==========================================

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: We have finished the first of three chapters in our little sim. The crew are well on their way to the destination and they are frantically looking for what is in this box that they are being asked to deliver (meddling kids!).

Spotlight: James Sinclair never fails to amaze me as to how good he is at drawing other people into RP. Of the ten or so active threads, James is active in nearly all of them and 60% of them are him reaching out to engage the new cadets.

FComm’s Comments: Overall the Challenger crew are doing well. A minor, completely expected hiccup with Exodus of course, but things snapped back which is great. I have no outstanding concerns for the Challenger this month, good work Challenger crew!

USS Endeavour

Commanding Officer: No report submitted, Dan shall be chastised later since he’s the silly President who demands these reports by this time. j/k and Happy Birthday Dan. :)

Executive Officer: Katherine Dedul

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Overall things are okay, I think everyone is just getting acquainted with Exodus, so posting has recently dropped. However, we’re getting cadets now which is great!! I expect I’ll have a bit more next month after everyone has gotten used to the new system and whatnot.

Spotlight: None.

==========================================

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: The Drachin are battling for their own supremacy, aliens who from two different times are devouring souls for their own energy gain. The fallout from this is causing issues with the ship through power overloads and random system problems. The latest is that of chroniton energy in the anti-deuterium injectors causing a mis-timed injection potential, threatening the ship. Security has arrived at the shuttle bay where the two aliens are battling, and Ang, the Chief Engineer is assisting the temporal agent, Hyde, back through the portal to try to shut down the temporal tunnel linking the ship with 19th century London.

Spotlight: None.

==========================================

FComm’s Comments: The Endy has lost a bit of momentum due to the switch to Exodus, but I’m hoping things will rebound in the coming month (I have already seen the beginnings of this by the writing of this report). I will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as necessary.
