Personnel Department Report - February 2019

Placements overall

There were 6 applicants processed in the month of February. One applicant was a returning member who requested a specific ship. Therefore, there were 5 applicants who the Personnel Department had to place.

An additional two applicants were not processed due to being non-responsive to emails.

4 (80%) Academy
0 (0%) Main Fleet
1 (20%) Abramsverse

(Everyone was placed in the Academy who requested the Academy.)

Comments: Both new members who requested “frequent” and “infrequent” also requested the Academy, which only has medium-speed ships.

Comments: Two “first choices” could not be accommodated: On February 4, 2019, there were no available security openings on the Chernov, resulting in a new member wanting the Abramsverse being placed in their second choice. On February 5, 2019, there were no available science positions on either Academy ship (due to no active CSOs), resulting in new member wanting to join the Academy being placed in their second choice. (No changes to the final statistics, because each change canceled the other one out.)

Open items from last report

MOTD: No new updates

Implementing PDept’s work into Exodus: No new updates. We’re still doing some manual work off of Exodus This will hopefully be addressed next term.

STF Yearbook: No new updates.

“Unusual” referals to STF: This issue, which had been a problem for a number of months, appears to have ceased on it’s own in February. Our stats have returned to normal and the referral sources make sense again. I’ll keep monitoring in March just to ensure the problem has stopped on its own.

New items

Nothing out-of-the-ordinary in February to report. No new discussions or issues.
