The Meridian Fleet Report - August 2019

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: Sidney Parker

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Well the sim ended and that was great. It was a great sim that Kenson gave us where there was equal action, thinking and development to be had. Our pilot wing was given a big chunk of action as well and that was great. The ship is doing great overall and now were transitioning into ship wide side sims and side sims in general.

Spotlight: In this sim I am going to give a spotlight on Melissa Aragon for her portrayal of a pilot who thought she might be losing her mind after being attacked by a psionic weapon. Also CE Sam Pennignton for the engineering work that was done in the sim. I want to add John P for his work as the COS and always taking the initiative on Away Teams.

Biggest shout out is to the GM Kenson for his great sim.

Vacancies: CMO as seems to always be the case. Adding another pilot since one dropped out would be nice too.

Executive Officer: R Smith

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: We had a lot of AWOLs this month but we were able to complete the mission. Participation seems sporadic.

Spotlight: Spotlight on Captain Sidney Parker who seemed to keep the sim going by willpower alone.

Vacancies: The Chief Medical Officer’s position is vacant.

Gamemaster: Kenson Koh

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 10
Overall Ship Health: 10

Sim Overview: The USS Dragoon went missing and the USS Brian Olinski was asked to conduct a search and rescue. Coming to the last known coordinates of the Dragoon, the Olinski encountered a rather backward planet with sophisticated technology installed underground. It was discovered that there was a transmission from the planet that had controlled the people on the planet. The Dragoon had been caught up in this transmission and the crew were now part of the planet’s people and the ship was in stationary orbit in the shadow of the planet.

Destroying the transmitters, the Olinski had freed the people and transported the Dragoon back to their ship. The Olinski’s XO took command of the Dragoon until the crew were declared fit to assume duties. Further scans showed an underground complex with connections to a ship found in the sea found at the northern pole of the planet.

Investigating the planet, it was discovered that the technology belonged to the Iconians. Examination of the resident population showed that they had Iconian DNA. After providing the Iconian ship with power, it seemed that a small group of Iconians had come to the planet hoping to colonise it. However, there was a native virus that prevented the Iconians from bearing children. The Iconians scientists had decided on a course of action that would allow the natives to become Iconians and thereby to be able to inherit the Iconian technology.

After reporting to HQ, the Olinski had been deemed to have completed their mission.

AFComm’s Comments: There were a few AWOLs between the last report and now, but it looks like posting has been picking up. It looks like Sydney is reviving an old Olinski tradition which I can’t wait to participate in.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Travis Good

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: We ate doing good. The first half of the month we had some awols and the like due to real life hitting a bunch of us. But we got a new XO and GM and some new crew! We have just started a new SIM shop things will get good soon!

Spotlight: Everyone for staying in ther posting limits the best you could have since we were missing key people.

Vacancies: CE
All JO’s

Executive Officer: Emily S.

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: I’ve recently joined the Chernov as XO so I’m still settling in but what I’ve seen so far has been really encouraging. We currently have one crew member on LOA and 1 member AWOL which is a new member who has only posted once, but the rest of the crew have been really consistent and engaged. We have just had Sam Pennington join us as CE so I can’t wait to see him in action. We are just at the beginning of a new sim so I am looking forward to see how the crew works together on a mission.

Spotlight: It’s too early for me to judge yet but there are some very promising writers on the ship and some great characterization from everyone so far.

Vacancies: JO’s in all departments

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Sim Overview: Sim just started and the Chernov has arrived at Deep Space K-7 for resupply and a mission briefing but the CO and company are held up debating how to get there by walking or transport trying to decide which is safer much to the annoyance of their evil GM!

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: Chernov is working hard with a new XO in tow. Looking forward to seeing the changes the ship will have moving forward.

USS Odin

Commanding Officer: Steven Sigle

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Romulans are back, as they attack a transport ship. Are they after resources or more?

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Kenson Koh

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Answering a distress call, the Odin found a Romulan ship attacking a freighter. As the Odin asked the Romulan ship to stand down, the Romulan ship took something from the freighter, cloaked and then fled. The Odin was requested by the freighter to help in repairs. The Odin then remained to tend to the damaged freighter.

At this juncture, the repairs have been completed.

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: A few AWOLs, but the Odin continues to run smoothly :)

USS Saracen

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Christopher Bennett

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Despite some extended LOA’s from my self and Dave, the ship is doing outstanding. Over 157 posts for the month of July. The Saracen has moved into a Nebula and is attempting to recover a probe that is sending out harmful radiation, causing the crew to act more aggressively. There have been multiple reports of injuries with sickbay being full, and main engineering is trying to keep the ship together.

Spotlight: Ffion Grace and D Grisham are the spotlights for the month. Ffion Grace has done a great job as helmsmen of the ship, posting some rather creative and honest posts. D. Grisham has done an outstanding job in bring her medical officer, a Emite to life. A very unique character with culture and history already which I am looking forward to learning more about.

Vacancies: None

Gamemaster: Krystelle McLean

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: The sim is still chugging along a bit slowly. This is a great crew but they do like their Side sims:) The Saracen has finally entered the Nebula and following the signals have found an alien probe which they are now investigating. It will lead them on to greater and better things!

Spotlight: It is hard to spotlight just any individual character on the Saracen as all are such strong Rpers. If I had to highlight only one it would Linds with her Lieutenant Corinne Dalton/SARAH (Ships AI/Avatar) as she plays this character with such aplomp and convincibility that she can seem quite alive still.

AFComm’s Comments: The Saracen does have a lot of activity and I’m excited to see what happens next in the sim!
