The Infinite Fleet Report - October 2019

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Vacant

Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We have a unique problem. The ship abruptly came out of warp and most crew are injured and trapped where they are. They are all striving to get out of there and to where they need to be. So far many are still isolated and working at it. It is an interesting dilemma and not the easiest to role play, but the crew is doing admirably.

With D’s having to step down we are improvising and trying to get our feet under us again. This sim is a good chance for everyone to shine in some way and a lot of the crew are taking up that challenge.

Spotlight: Luke, the GM, in doing this kind of sim he has to keep on a large number of threads and keep timelines in mind and well, a lot of detail. The crew for posting in a difficult situation.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Seeing as this is the second sim I’m running for this ship, I am seeing a vast improvement in posting. It is almost three times the response rate I was getting on the first mission. I’m sure the five different mission threads I’m running have something to do with it, but the real difference is the activity of the crew. I hope the loss of D won’t be too damaging to the progress the ship made in the past two months.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The Chimera is doing much better at the moment which I believe is due to both Gene and Luke stepping up to fill D’s loss. I know the difficulty and trouble D is going through right now and my heart and prayers are with her. I have advertised for a new CO in Command and applications were open until the 15th of September but I have not had a single application so I will be extending the application time.
Meanwhile I think that Gene and Luke have things well in hand.

USS Constellation

Commanding Officer: Louis Harvatt

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: Were did September go wow did that month fly by. Sadly, partly on my behalf due to a busy OOC month the Constellation only saw a post count of 84 making it one of our lowest this year. For that I apologise. But alas I can assure you that October will see double that at a minimum as I have high hopes for my crew. I am scheduling chats with several crew members with the hopes of developing and rolling out a number of ideas on top of the main sim and current side sims.

All be it slow on my part the main sim is moving and now that I don’t have such a future as my schedule is ironed out and in place. As I am the luckiest CO in the club with the best Crew there is. In the words of the British band D Ream ‘Things can only get better’.

Once again apologies for not been as active as hoped. I can assure this will not be the case in future. With my new job and my Birthday September consumed the majority of my time.

Spotlight: The whole crew for persevering with my posting Tardiness.

Vacancies: Please see ship profile for up to date vacancies.

Executive Officer: Katy Darrah

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: All in all, fairly standard month for the Connie. Both myself and Louis have been in and out in terms of posting, but we’ve been keeping up as possible.

Spotlight: Ems. Despite both of the other two command staff being in and out, she’s kept the sim moving, and even still left interactions open for both myself and Louis in our respective threads.

Vacancies: JOs as always, Entertainment coordinator and chef as well

Gamemaster: Emily S.

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Overall it’s been a good month for the Constellation, things are moving along nicely and apart from a bit of a dip in posting, everyone is engaged and hopefully enjoying the sim! The crew have really run with what I’ve given them, perhaps a little moreso than I was expecting which was great to see. I love the new dynamic our latest recruits have added to the mix and it continues to be a joy to GM the Constellation.

Spotlight: My spotlight this month goes to Ben Simons :) Ben has been really engaged in the sim and has been doing a lot to help it move on. He’s brought a really interesting dynamic into the crew with his Andorian science officer and him and Gene have been doing some nice character development in their side sim.

FComm’s Comments: The Connie is doing fairly well this month with the majority of the crew taking an active part in the sim. Ems is a brilliant GM and she creates such interesting sims! I have no concerns at this time.

Starbase Magellan

Commanding Officer: Jim Watkin

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The starbase has been ticking along over the last month - The old sim is all but wrapped up, with a new sim going to start soon. In the meantime many of the players are roleplaying and interacting getting to know one another.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: JOs in all departments
Marine CO
Marines
Swing Positions

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Overall Magellan is moving along, but the simm has sort of died down due to the lack of involvement with the crew. Hopefully we can get it wrapped up soon, as we are almost done.

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Sim Overview: The Sim that just. Won’t. Die.

The main mission is wrapped up, we are finishing closing out some story lines that are just about done. I am trying to engage the rest of the crew in side sims but they seem to be good at entertaining themselves.

I have ideas for the next sim as soon as we are ready.

Spotlight: Jim W. for pulling everyone in, tooth and nail if he has to.

FComm’s Comments: I have to laugh every time I see Geoff’s report! It is the sim that will not end, lol. The crew don’t seem to want to let it die but I am looking forward to the new sim Geoff has in store for us. I have no concerns with the Magellan as Jim and Geoff are doing just fine with her.

USS Viking

Commanding Officer: Unexcused

Executive Officer: Jim Watkin

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The main sim is progressing - The colony appears to be under some sort of psionic attack that is affecting telepaths, empaths , joined Trills and the bio-neural gel packs

Many of the crew are posting well - There is a team in the colony’s sickbay, a team attempting to repair their weatherstation and a handful of other charecters elsewhere.

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Emily S.

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: Unfortunately it’s been another very slow month for the Viking. We still have nearly half the crew LOA or AWOL so progress has been quite slow this month. Those who have been around have been doing their best to keep things moving but it has not always been easy to do when they are waiting on responses. The sim is slowly moving along but my hope is that things will pick up soon and we can get up to a good pace again.

Spotlight: I have two spotlights this month for Matt Evans & Miha Kozlevcar. Matt has made a great start as our new COS and has been getting really stuck into the sim. Likewise, Miha has been really consistent this month and has been doing a great job of moving things along.

FComm’s Comments: I have some concerns with the Viking at present and have been working with both Amanda and Emily to try and get things moving which includes cleaning up the roster. I intend to keep working with them on it this month.

Fleet Comments Overall: Overall other then hunting for a CO for Chimera and keeping an eye on Connie and Viking I don’t have any major concerns with the Infinite Fleet. Most of the crew have been much more active this month.
