Hello Everyone,
The site will be down for maintenance between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM EST this Friday, November 29. It is necessary to take the site down to perform upgrades to supporting software.
Specifically, we’re upgrading our version of MySQL database server and cPanel. We need to do this in order to ensure that we continue receiving security updates, and as a necessary precondition for the next set of feature updates for Exodus. The upgrade will have the additional immediate benefit of fixing the issue where emojis inserted into posts or contact form messages cause a “Status 500 Error”.
This date has been chosen because it’s assumed activity will be low on this day anyway, as it is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, and because the election ended earlier than expected. Although we’ve set aside 2 hours to perform the maintenance, we expect it will probably be finished before 3 PM. If there is any reason to delay the upgrade, please let me know.
