Infinite Fleet Report November 2019

Posted Dec. 11, 2019, 12:29 p.m. by Commodore Steven Sigle (FComm, Infinite Fleet) (Steven Sigle)

OOC: Krys was gracious enough to finish her notes for the wonderful Infinite Fleet so these are her findings for the month.

The Infinite Fleet Report

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Sarah Hemenway

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: I’ve had a slow start getting involved with the Chimera since house guests showed up right as the edict went up, but Gene, Luke, and I have touched base and we’re getting things together. The only glaring vacancy when I assumed command was CMO and Cale has stepped up to fill that, for which I am eternally thankful. Over the next few weeks, I’m hoping to get the MOTD updated and condensed a bit as well as get more deeply involved in the sim IC.

Spotlight: Gene has held the Chimera together while it went without a CO and, from everything I can see, he did a fantastic job. Thank you, Gene!

Vacancies: The Chimera welcomes JOs in all departments. Please feel free to find me on Discord (eagle15) to discuss or shoot me a message through my profile.

Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We’re making progress!!! Well, if by blasting holes in the decks of the ship to make it from one deck to another is making progress we’re doing it! Slowly the crew is coming together and forming larger groups and getting medical attention. The crew has worked at this admirably. Normally in a venture we command the computer to do this or that or just do something and it happens in that 24th Century techy miracle making, though in this case the crew has had to work through their problems with solutions that take longer and much more creativity. Good job on that everyone!

All that said we still don’t know what is going on outside the ship, or, technically, inside the ship at all past the force fields and jumper cables. Looking forward to seeing what is beyond the next bulkhead!

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: The ship is doing better than I am with a 8 day AWOL.. sorry by people. To be honest Thanksgiving and my job have been kicking my @$$. We are moving along fairly smoothly and the people will have to start figuring out why the computer land the ship is being so obstinate. There is a reason…

FComm’s Comments: I am very excited to welcome Sarah aboard! The Chimera has always been a strong ship and she weathered her time without a CO just beautifully but having gained a strong CO I can’t wait to see where she goes from here. Luke’s sim is very interesting and puzzling but the crew does not seem to have given up despite that, rather they seem to be digging into it. Well done all!

USS Constellation

Commanding Officer: Louis Harvatt

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: December was a quiet month for the Constellation with a total of 51 posts. Although the main sim has made some progress it has been on a small scale due to the GM and other members of the crew been on unforeseen LOA’s. Now that the GM and others have returned I am confident that throughout December running up to the Christmas period posting will improve and the sim will move along nicely.

I am also looking to roll out some festive themed side sims that will bring a nice finish to a brilliant year on the Connie. Its hard to believe that this time last year I was applying for the position of Commanding Officer on the Constellation.

Were does time go!

Spotlight: This month I have decided to select the whole crew for the monthly spotlight. Thank you crew of the Connie for keeping active during crew LOAs.

Vacancies: Please see ship profile for updated vacancy list. As always should you feel you have an idea for a swing position/character then please feel free to reach out to me.

Executive Officer: Katy Darrah

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: Overall, sim is moving along at a steady clip. Story-wise there’s little advancement, but the GM has had some life issues pop up, so we’re doing what we can to make things move along.

Spotlight: Sam Pennington. He’s been keeping my old department (Engineering) engaged, and overall has just been great to sim with

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Connie has definitely slipped in posts recently due to long LOA of the GM who I am hoping will be back soon. Despite the lack of GM the crew has been trying to keep things moving. I have been trying to reach Ems and at last contact on the 1st she said she would be catching up.

Starbase Magellan

Commanding Officer: Jim Watkin

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Posting has slowed over the last week - partly because of me being busy with Christmas Concert prep and some sort of holiday on the American side of the pond. I am hoping that posting will pick up so that we can establish the new sim story before Christmas.

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Overall Magellan has managed to keep moving forward. The Simm has slowed slightly, but side simms have kept it moving forward. It’s still early in the simm, so hopefully we’ll get some excitement soon!

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: GM Could be a little more available but I will blame the holidays. Anyway the sim is starting off and we are starting to get people involved. I am hoping to have more apparitions show up over the next month or two to get us through the holidays before cranking up the heat.

Spotlight: Tyra and Jim have really supported the new sim by letting me abuse their character’s past.

FComm’s Comments: Things have been fairly quiet on the Magellan due to the crew hanging onto the end of the last sim and a slow start on this new one. By the sounds of things Geoff has an interesting one lined up. I do not have any concerns with the Magellan though as she remains one of the strongest ships in the Fleet.

USS Viking

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Jim Watkin

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 3
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: The Viking appears to have ground to a halt. I have been busy and not been able to post and drive things as much as I’d like over the last few weeks as preparations for the Christmas concert season have been in full swing.

The Away Team has theorised that there was something in the caves that was disturbed when the colony was founded, although the colony was suposed to be established on an uninhabited world, it appears that this may not be the case…

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Ems has an amazing sim started on the Viking which has been very thought provoking so its a shame rl has bitten her so hard. But as I stated before I spoke with her on the 1st and she said she was working on catching up. I have been still trying to reach her to see about her progress. I would hate to lose such a good GM.
