The Infinite Fleet Report - December 2019

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Sarah Hemenway

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The Chimera has slowed down a bit toward the end of the month with the holidays, but overall, it had a solid month. The majority of the crew has posted regularly and I plan to work with the rest to make sure we’re all on board with expectations over the next month or so.

Spotlight: Cale has jumped in to the main sim to get all of our banged up crew fixed up as well as allowing us all to enjoy the back story of how her character came aboard the Chimera.

Vacancies: JOs in all departments

Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: With my general absence over the holidays (some fun, some sick), I just want to say that up to the ‘relaxed’ posting post that the ship was doing very nicely with the crew starting to come together into clusters to interact with and beginning to get an idea of the ship and it’s condition. Some rudimentary communications have been nailed together provided we keep being able to find strings and tin cans. It is an exciting time to be a character and play into these conditions, and, I have a spidey sense that now that we’re just getting a small handle on things, that our good GM will toss in another spanner into the works. As he should.

Sim Overview: Chimera is quite healthy. A huge turn around from this point last year. Well done Captain and Crew. The mission is going well and they are in the second part of the three part play. First act, survive the problem, now they are at figure out what caused the problem… next of course will be to solve the problem.

FComm’s Comments: The Chimera produced 144 posts during the month of December. This meant they achieved well above what is expected for a ship their size and speed, and considering the time of the month and holidays is indeed very impressive.. Areas that contributed to the higher than normal posting was an increased activity in side sims and character development posts. The character development posts by Joana Ribero and Jerome Davis made you feel like you were reading a novel. Each post increased my investment in their storyline. The side sim involving Alexxander Ryley as the CMO has allowed the crew and readers to understand their new chief doc and what to expect during in character role play. The main sim had steady posts moving the story along. Well done Chimera crew!

USS Constellation

Commanding Officer: Louis Harvatt

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: Rough couple off weeks sadly our GM is AWOL/LOA/eLOA, we have lost some people and the ships been slow due to Christmas aswell. Katy and I are currently shortlisting candidates for DH spots with some JO’s we are looking at filling the roster up in the coming days/weeks I am predicting good things in 2020. Theres going to be some hard times ahead but as always we will prevail. Though I must remember to get some more glitter filled warheads oh and remove the jelly donut from the XO’s bridge chair.

Very little movement in the sim but in the works of my favourite psychists Band Things can only get better.

On another note I have been captain of the connie for 1 year 1 day were does time go.

Spotlight: My spotlight goes out the full crew we have had a rough few weeks and they have stood by and stayed active its 2020 and good things are coming to the Connie I have a great ship and a great crew. Keep up the good work.

Vacancies: Chief Engineer and Chief of Security in addition to Junior Officers other vacancies can be found out our ship profile and MOTD.

Executive Officer: Katy Darrah

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Well, GM is…quiet. With the holidays recently over, things are generally quiet, I’ve thrown up a side sim to try and get activity moving, with a couple results. It’s mostly in place to allow folks to stay within AWOL limits

Spotlight: Louis. Despite everything going on, he’s still keeping up on his duties as a CO

Vacancies: Chief of Security

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Connie had 61 posts for the month of December, and when we take in their size and speed it is well as well the slow down of the holidays and you have for one impressive ride. I am very impressed in Louis initiative with his festive side sim which seemed to have been a major hit for the month and did a lot to keep players interested even with the lull of the season. On a side note, Louis has decided to let Emily S go as we start a look for a GM for the ship. Overall I feel the Connie had a very productive month and looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings for them.

Starbase Magellan

Commanding Officer: Jim Watkin

Ship Status: Things are starting to pick up after the Xmas / New Year lull - The sim is just getting going and I look forward to what our evil GM has in store

Ship Status: Overall Magellan has slowed down in December, as expected. With the holidays, people took advantage of the relaxed posting speed. However, we are continuing to push through with the new mission, and hopefully we’ll be able to get something cool very soon!

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8

Sim Overview: The holidays slowed the station down some but it is picking back up. The Ghosts are continuing to haunt things but the crew is asking all the right questions so we will see how long this one actually lasts.

Spotlight: None this month

AFComm’s Comments: The Magellan and the crew produced 56 posts in December. This is well within the posting threshold for a ship of this class and speed. When you look at that number plus the fact the site was on a site-wide LOA for two weeks, they did remarkably well for the holiday season. There was a lot of activity with the main sim which included almost everyone on the ship participating. There were also two side sims that rounded out the entire crew posting for the month to threads. This is the ship that works and plays together very well-creating stories that are intriguing as well as captivating. I particularly enjoy the way the civilians have worked their stories into the main sim. The posts by Salazar and Mace contained many details that made me feel like I knew those characters for years. The Blue Note was a pleasure to read and I look forward to reading more. By the way, you know my affinity for coffee so brew me up a cup Mia! The descriptive quality of the “Quiet Shift” was amazing. It painted a mental picture-making me hold my breath as they used the literary illusion of the needle closing in on the cell to foreshadow the ghosts closing in on Ens. TeWhiti. Amazing writing guys. Keep it up.

USS Viking

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Jim Watkin

Crew Posting Level: 2
Senior Staff Posting Level: 2
Overall Ship Health: 2

Ship Status: The sim has once again stalled with due to the high levels of absence over the festive period. We are so close to completing the sim… Let’s make one final push…

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Sadly the Viking has been very slow, even for the December holidays with only 39 posts. Without anyone but the XO sending in a report it is a little hard to gauge everything I normally would be able to. I am hoping to see a vast improvement from the coming months, as even when taking into the holiday seasons this does seem awfully sluggish. Now with all that aside, it isn’t 100% doom and gloom. There has been some wonderful side sims between Cass Young and Christina Crawford that have been going on. I am hoping to see more of this spread as the winter months continue.
