The Infinite Fleet Report - March 2020

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Sarah Hemenway

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The Chimera is still plodding along. The engineering department has done a great job trying to push the sim forward, but we’re still not quite sure what’s going on with the Chimera. Most people have posted reliably throughout the month, although there are one or two people that will need follow up in the coming weeks. Everyone is involved in the main sim at this point and there are several interesting side sims going on to tackle various character development points.

Spotlight: None at this time.

Vacancies: All JOs

Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Our ship is running somewhat hot and cold for staffing. Some members are away and others are very present. The sim itself is engaging though in some cases a bit hard to find a place in. With the virus happening it is hard to fault someone for being away when I’m feeling the pressure here and stress doesn’t make for motivation to post much and with all of that extending grace for people not posting as much. With that said we are moving along in the sim and are close to having a definite direction for us to all move in. It is much on the upside when the GM posts that things move and I’m grateful that Luke is keeping up with us and, I hope we are keeping up with him.

Spotlight: Luke for pushing us on in the face of all the external things in life.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: I think on sim posting is going well. Side sims are going pretty well too. I am going to put the sim in the final stage and unless something goes completely awry will be finished with the sim before the end of April, but who knows with the Corona.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The Chimera is a ship that always feels to be top-notch to me, and March was no exception. The crew has been on fire and it shows with not only the sheer volume of posts but the quality too. I wanted to give a special shout out to Cale and Sarah, who’s side sims remind me so much of what I love about Alexxander Ryley and his cranky old doctor self. Keep up the good work guys, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for the ship.

USS Constellation

Commanding Officer: Katy Darrah

Crew Posting Level: 10
Senior Staff Posting Level: 10
Overall Ship Health: 10

Ship Status: We are green! Sim is off to a great start, and we’ve gone Through the Looking Glass to meet the Mad Hatter. Thankfully my CE seems to be familiar with this story because I am not.

Spotlight: Tyra, Travis, and the entire crew. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have such an awesome crew

Vacancies: Swings, JOs, CNS, all vacancies on the Ship Profile are up to date

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Tyra Schroll

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Sim Overview: After a slow start, the ship is picking up speed with the sim. I am hopeful that the crew will get to the meat of the sim in the next week or so. Part of the slowness falls on my shoulders due to work committments. That has hopefully lessened significantly since I have my problem kids in stable placements now.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The USS Constellation had a wonderful first month under the guidance of the amazing Katy Darrah. The main sim is interesting and engaging with a journey down the looking glass. The GM had me hooked by her storyline and the crew responding to it. It’s well known I am a coffee lover but a story with a Mad Hatter as a Vulcan, Cheshire Cat as a Bajoran and a Mouse as a human has me saying this could be my cup of tea. Cass Young stepped into the XO position as Katy’s right-hand man Hegush Falz. The addition of the superb writing styles of Tim Frogue, Sharon Miller, and David Robinson. The MOTD also got a revamp and it looks stunning. Great job guys.

Starbase Magellan

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 5

Sim Overview: The crew has found that they are struggling in communicating with the other timelines. The crew will need to figure out some way to isolate the Magellan from the random popping bubbles of various timelines if they want to stop the annoyances.

Spotlight: None

FComm’s Comments: “There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.” -Frank Herbert

We are reusing this quote because it is so appropriate. While it is hard to see the ship decommissioned what never will be gone is the amazing stories and memories many in this club have had writing in the Magellan. We want to thank the crew past and present for all their amazing work on the Magellan. Thank you for entertaining us with your stories and sharing the adventures of your characters. It was a pleasure and honor to work with this crew. Thank you for that opportunity.

USS Viking

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Russell Watt

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Ok, I’ve had a loa this month, and haven’t fully returned yet. Though I am chcking in with the CO, Amanda, and GMT, Katy from time to time

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Katy Darrah

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: The Full Moon Rises

When a distress call arrives from a planet formerly selected as a colony world (but later decided against) the USS Viking must come to the rescue of the group of activists stranded there and find out their motives

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The Viking has had a rough time in the past six weeks. Despite this rough time they have begun to turn it around and have put forth a lot of effort. I want to thank Russ and Katy for stepping in as XO and GM to help out during the trying time they had been having. This has lead to some solid roleplay from all as we see a return to form on the ship to its once great status. Good job everyone and I look forward to seeing more of what you guys are capable of.
