The Foremost Fleet Report - April 2020

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Overall the ship is in ok/good shape. Due to some computer issues though I had to end the sim prematurely due to loss of the notes (triple back ups fail me go figure!), this has as a result slowed things down but I hope to jump right into the next sim very soon within the next day or so. Otherwise health wise we’ve done well up till the loss of the sim though had a few awols and loas crop up near the end of the month too.

Spotlight: Props to my XO and CMO for their roleplay up till I lost the sim. Top notch!

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: Ben Simons

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: Though the Sim has been going well, unfortunately Rob has had to stop it due to technical issues. As a result, we’re going to be retconning. As disappointing as this is for the crew, it was unavoidable. We’ll be going into a new sim soon so hopefully we’ll be able to jump into the next one soon.

Spotlight: This month I’d like to highlight one of our new players, Eve has been showing potential right from the start and I’m looking forward to seeing what is coming next from Sharon with her new challenging character.

Vacancies: JOs for all departments, but we really need Science and Medical JOs as we currently have no juniors in that department.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: Overall the ship is in ok/good shape.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The AA have had a generally good month despite some issues with the sim, Rob is now on top of that and the crew have continued ticking over. I am happy to see new people involved and some JO roles being filled and it is encouraging to see the crew banding together to help continue writing through the disappointment of the sim ending abruptly.

Goals for the AA for the month going forward are to continue to fill their JO posts and get their new sim underway.

Also first report cookies again for the AA Command crew.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Tyra Schroll

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: We are struggling a bit right now. Cale and I are discussing how to get the ship healthy again. I am working on posting more. And we are exploring other ideas.

Jason’s sim has the Asimov stranded on a deserted island....or is it. We are preparing for possible first contact, while trying tomake the ship flyable again.

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: Calé Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: Overall a bit of a mixed month for the azzy, we have had a number of awols and loas and the sim has stalled slightly as a result. Tyra and i are working on getting the ship back into a more healthy state.

Spotlight: Melissa and Jason have kept things going with some pre sim work.

Vacancies: JOs in all depts

Gamemaster: Jason Lee

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Sim Overview: The ship is crashed on an unknown planet. The crew needs to figure out how to repair and escape the planet.

Spotlight: Brandon Irvine

FComm’s Comments: The Azzy had a very slow month overall with a few AWOL issues which resulted in some people being removed from the roster. As the month ended we saw some more activity and a bit of a worry regarding the health state of the ship. As a result Tyra and I had a short meeting to discuss the best way forward for the ship and are now working on the action points from this one of which includes a stricter enforcement of the awol policy where needed and more active recruitment.

Goals for the Azzy moving forward is to secure the basics of ship health as outlined in FCOMM and try to encourage more activity within Jason’s wonderful mystery sim.

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We seem to be going on pretty well. The Sim is nearly over and looking forward to seeing where the crew goes next.

Spotlight: Gm for keeping it together.

Vacancies: XO, GM

I think the XO more immediately, the GM when Wookie is done with the Sim

Executive Officer: No report submitted - Position is open, interested parties please apply to the CO

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Everything is falling apart around the Bonnie. As more repulsors fail there is less coverage to protect the City Sphere from being pulled into the black hole. With the stresses the shell of the sphere is cracking and the chains are strained that hold it in place. What is more, there isn’t enough craft to rescue everyone - maybe. Bane, the enigmatic being who can take the form of a person or a ship has offered to assist to take the population onto his ‘ship’. However, the Bane has been banned from the Dyson Sphere from time past, though there has been no explanation from the AI guardians of the Dyson Sphere. The crew only knows that there is a limited time before the City Sphere falls into the black hole, and maybe less time before the AI guardians detect that the Bane is inside and react to this intrusion.

Will they succeed? Maybe May will tell …

Spotlight: Our good Captain has been doing a bang up job of keeping the elements together as we push on to the conclusion of this sim. Well done!

FComm’s Comments: The Bonnie has had a good month with activity from the crew despite some AWOLs and crew shifts. The sim is drawing to a close and as such a new chapter will start in the Bonnie’s story. Unfortunately due to real life commitments Owen has had to step down as XO and Melissa is on a hunt to find his replacement now. A very good opertunity to get involved with a new ship and a new experience.

Moving forward for the month the Bonnie’s goals are to secure their DH positions as outlined in FCOMM and to coni the their recruitment for new JOs as part of that.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Ship is in Orbit around Graven homeworld. We have multiple missions occurring simultaneously with all departments and a diplomatic contingent. We have also had injuries occur in a ground vehicle accident.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: JO’s in all Departments
CSO

Executive Officer: Steven Sigle

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The ship has been bustling, both in the main sim and the side sims. The month has been a great one, with so many new stories anything you want can be found.

Spotlight: Lindsay Bayes has some great drama with the return of her mother. Is she a double agent? Is she being played? Time will tell and I look forward to along with all the great writers.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: This is I think the first real month of digging into the sim. The away team has arrived on the Graven homeworld and has met their counterparts there and split up. The Captain and immediate folk are meeting with the planetary leaders to discuss relations with the Federation. The other departments are looking into issues that had been communicated where the Manhattan crew could assist in. Thus far most are en-route to such destinations - an area where crops had failed, another geo-thermal plant where there was unusual corrosion in the wells, as well as discussion related to alien pathogens and dealing with them. Lastly there is a conversation with the law enforcement .. in a local bar.

May should show some of these coming together as the ship sensors have detected an unusual radiation in the area of the crops that will be looked at on the ground. It has entered the water table and looks to have had some influence on the geothermal wells. The questions begin .. we will see where the answers lay :)

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: A lot of good involvement from the crew in the sim this month and the posts in the side sims have really made me laugh at points. Good work this month from the Manhattan team.

Moving forward this month the Manhattan’s goal carries over, to continue recruitment for their JO compliment.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The Ship is Out on Patrol at the moment

Spotlight:

Vacancies: Core
1X Engineering JO
1X Medical JO
1X Science JO

Plus the Swing Positions listed on the MOTD

Executive Officer: Nathan Derricutt

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: We have been struggling to keep posting up and we’ve been having issues with our GM. However we now have a new GM and this means hopefully we can drag our posting amount up. I have been dealing with some personal stuff so I haven’t been keeping as good an eye on things as i should. However I’m hoping things will start getting better and i will be bale to keep better track of out posting limits. We are also encouraging our crew to post fun and interesting side sim to keep themselves sand other busy.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: we need JOs in all departments

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Memorial has had a slow month with some hiccups in the start of the new sim. Issues with AWOLs and disengagement have shown and as a result Kirt, Nathan and Joe and I met to discuss the situation and how we could put an intervention in place to help, ultimately this has led to a discussion on the enforcement of AWOL policies.
Liam also stepped down as GM at the end of the month due to time commitments and I’d like to take a moment to thank him for his work. He has been replaced as GM why the wonderful Kevin Sawyer who is now fleshing out a new sim with the command team which I am sure will help turn some of the issues around along with the measures Kirt and Nathan are putting in place.

Moving forward for the month the Memorial’s goal is to work on enforcing their AWOL policies and to continue recruitment for their JO vacancies.

Overall comments:

So an up and down month for the Foremost fleet. Generally the ships are ticking along, some with some issues and we are working with the command teams of those ships in question to support them and their ships as much as we can. I am great full for the open communication of the command teams in question who have made it easy to quickly work on some immediate goals and make changes very quickly.

We have also had a bit of a face lift this month on the main fleet page and the Starbase with a HUGE help to Sharon Miller who kindly took pity on my pathetic attempts to update the look of the fleet and stepped into help.

The foremost fleet has a lot of fantastic writers and exciting opportunities coming up or ships at the perfect time to join. So if you’re looking for a new environment or a new character please give our ships a look, I promise you won’t regret it!

Fleet awards for April

The Boat that Rocks - Ship of the Month: April USS Manhattan

The Golden Gleeman- Writer of the Month: April Sharon Miller and Melissa Aragon

Starship Trooper- Player of the Month: April Brandon Irvine

Dungeon Master- GM of the Month: April Gene Gibbs (*2 Months running!)

The foremost fleet report, brought to you in the month of April by the colour Orange and the number six.

No Androids or fluffy creatures were harmed in the creation of this report. The rumour that an intelligence operative has infiltrated one of our ships and is providing information to the Eastern seaboard chapter of Ultimate villains and or may be using the fleet budgets to buy weather machines to make it snow in palaces in spring are purely speculation and we have nothing further to say on that matter because they have our cookies hostage…I mean…
