GMDept August Report

Posted Sept. 6, 2020, 3:24 p.m. by Commander Sam Pennington (Gamemaster Director) (Sage Pennington)

The first full month of this term was a busy one. The Gamemaster Department saw 2 GMT sims start and a little discussion of procedure.

GMTs:
James Sinclair, USS Dresden, GMM Lindsay Bayes, started 15 August, 1st review 13 November
Katy Darrah, USS Ark Angel, GMM Robert Archer, started 25 August, 1st review 23 November

Both sims have only just started and we look forward to seeing where our trainees go.

As we placed one GM, an issue of procedure came up regarding FComms. The FCOMM bylaw states that fleet commanders must consent to Gamemaster placements. After a minor confusion, all FComms were asked to submit their specific policies on the placement of GMs. As of now only one response has been received.

Slightly on the back burner, we have the look into the OED V PRSIM system. While other things have been more urgent this past month, it is on the docket.

Archivist Comments:
On the Archive front, I’ve done a training session with James and got him up to speed on the project we need to accomplish before Phase 1 of the new Archive Rollout. For this first phase we’re going to be working methodically to make sure all current GM records since Exodus (and their attached sims) are complete and up to date. Beyond that we will make sure any and all GM records active during WebbSpace are complete. Those beyond that will be done on a case-by case basis if needed.
