December is usually a quieter month, but we’ve been pretty busy lately. And with good stuff too.To start with, GMTs:
James Sinclair, USS Dresden, GMM Lindsay Bayes
James passed his first review with flying colours, and as his sim has not yet concluded, he was given clearance to see that through. We will reconvene when his sim ends to make a final evaluation on his performance. No one else is currently active as a GMT, though anyone is welcome at any time to take the exam and start the process.
The archive:
The archive… is ready. Mostly. The system works, much thanks to Joe and Linds for their teamwork on making sure it works and works well. Information is still being input into the new system, and the current plan is a dual release. Both archives will be available for a while while the transition is being made. It’s exciting times to see the culmination of all this work.-Sam Pennington, Gamemaster Director
Archivist Comments:
Significant work has been done by Joe on the build of the new Amanda Noon Archive and after a few more tests and some more back and forth, we have a functional Archive! This is very exciting and it’s been a long time coming but I’m very happy to be able to get it set-up and going. While it is functional and live, there is a bunch of work that has to happen on the back end before anyone can see anything on the front end. And we also have some work to do to make the old archive (which the new one will pull past sim and GM info from) as cleaned up as possible. They will run simultaneously for a little while but not permanently so updating old records as far as we can will be a priority. Where needed, our focus will be on sims and GM data from WeBBSpace, since it would be exceptionally rare to have data older than WeBBSpace be submitted and if it were, we can enter it in the new archive.~Linds, Archivist
I just want to congratulate everyone on their hard work on the archives! Thank you! It is greatly appreciated!
