Given discussion has died down on the MOO discussion (but I want to give it a little more time before posting the bill) and we’re still processing cabinet applications (make sure to send your applications in!), I have a housekeeping amendment to FCOMM to propose.

The current language is:

Charter

In addition to the above requirements, the Alternative RPG Area charter must also specify whether or not RPG ranks in the Area count towards a member’s Member Rank or not and whether the environment is a Second Character Only environment or not. The Personnel Department may only assign new members to an Alt RPG if the new member specifically requests that assignment and the ship is chartered or marked as able to accept new members who request such an assignment. The charter must also include minimum standards that the RPG must maintain in order to remain a commissioned environment. The Alternative RPG Area’s charter may only be amended by Presidential Edict, with the consent of the related Fleet Commander and Area Leader or Administrator.

The proposed change is (addition is in bold):

If the Alternative RPG Area’s charter contains references to the RPG’s ship class or registry, the RPG Area’s and ship class or registry may be changed by Presidential Edict without the need to supersede the RPG’s prior charter, provided the changes do not conflict with the remainder of the charter. The Librarian is authorized to update the Library’s copies of the RPG’s charter when amendments to the ship class or registry are made.

This is to resolve the need to have to re-copy the entire charter every time we want to update a ship’s class or registry (which happened three times last term). It also helps Presidents standardize their edicts regarding changes to ship classes, etc.

I’ll leave this discussion open to April 11th, subject to any major problems with this proposal.

Daniel

As an Alt CO who has had to do this this past term I am totally for this change.

Calé

Same here. Regardless of the other changes I had proposed for the Connie, I still had to submit a new charter for the change of registry. I’m all for making it easier to change and adapt a ship as needed for plot and story reasons. Keep things fluid and dynamic!

Brian
