November 30, 2021I think it is fitting to write about both Brian Richards and Jennifer Ward in the same edict. While Brian has been the Meridian Fleet’s Fleet Commander for the past term, and Jennifer has been the fleet’s Assistant Fleet Commander, the truth is that they have been working closely together to run the Meridian Fleet.
This isn’t the first stint in Fleet Command for either Brian or Jennifer. They have both held the role as Fleet Commander previously, prior to taking an extended break from STF / STF Command (which many of us have needed on occasion), and I was glad when both were able to step up to the role again. While every fleet has had its bumps this past term, I always knew that Brian and Jennifer were on top of the issues, and both would be quick to fill me in and answer any questions I had about the Meridian Fleet. I was also impressed with their ways to try to increase the mentoring within their fleet and experimenting with new ways to get members more involved. They did this on top of their current work as COs (Brian as the CO of the USS Constellation and Jenn as the CO of the USS Viking).
Therefore, in recognition of their work as Fleet Commander and Assistant Fleet Commander, their prior roles as Fleet Commanders, and their general active work in STF, I hereby promote both Brian Richards and Jennifer Ward to Fleet Captain.
