The Pioneer Fleet Report - December 2021

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Ian Kerby

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Ares has been defeated but a new wrinkle has developed. Rather than be judged by his own people he has requested that the Captain and senior officers judge whether he and his are guilty or not.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: 133 posts for the month of December, I’m disappointed by the lack of CO and XO reports however I’m looking forward to seeing the ship through this term.

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O’Neill

How is your ship looking overall? The ship is doing amazing. We were lucky enough to have Trya and Ray rejoin the crew to round out the roster. The main sim by our fabulous GM Luke Hung is moving along nicely. We are being chased by a ship referred to as the Darkness and no way to fight it, for now, except to engage the old fight or flight response. Since it will knock the snot out of us…run it is but don’t worry. We are the intrepid crew of the USS Atlantis. We will find a way to save the day, defeat the enemy, and be home for dinner.

There are several side sims going which allows people plenty of choices to post which they are and creating amazing stories.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Posting with Luke Hung as Heathcliff Rinker. I absolutely love his long-standing counselor character and it has been fun, exciting, and a blast to be able to RP with his character again. Every post has been a blast so it is not possible to pick just one.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Continue to work on the MOTD

Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Coming off of the December freeze, including myself, we are at it if slowly. Side sims are still chugging along and we are striving to find our footing in the post pirate base, post exit stage left run from the mysterious Darkness, and now back to facing our past sins of starting a fight on the one Base that is the best diplomatic nest for solving our problems - such as getting us back home. We’ve a couple folks yet to return from having too much Christmas cheer (well, presuming that) but the rest are back at it.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have JO’s?

Who is the shining star this month? Not me. Perhaps the star of Bethlehem that the wise star-fleet folks caught in a time followed only to find it was Q showing off?

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Sim is going along slowly. There are a number of high energy side posts going that is drawing some attention, but overall the ship is super active over the past month and change.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Kate, who happens to be the captain, who I hate to use as the biggest contributor since she the captain and by role should be the biggest contributor, but this was next level.

FComm’s Comments: 243 posts for December, I’m excited to see the bounty of side sims as well as main sim interaction. Ship is very healthy and I’m looking forward to seeing the ship through this term.

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul

How is your ship looking overall? Overall, I think we’re okay. The roster is AWOL heavy, but I expected that with the holiday season. I’m even guilty of not posting regularly. I will email my crew shortly to remind them that AWOLs are back in full force. I expect the red to be gone shortly after that. Our wonderful GMT, Kirt has already posted a few new threads for my crew to work through regarding his sim, so I think we’ll climb out of this slump no problem.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I unfortunately have nothing specific. It was a pretty slow month on the ship.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I will be looking to secure a CMO this month and perhaps along the way some more JOs.

Executive Officer: AJ Paulson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We’re just coming back from Holiday break and all my DHs have been active.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?My JOs were fantastic and active during our Holiday break.

Who is the shining star this month? Kirt for stepping up to the mantle of being our GM. Here’s hoping your GMT goes great while you’re with us.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: 38 posts for the month of December, the Chimera is progressing slowly but steadily a decent blend of main sim and side sims going well. I’m looking forward to seeing the ship through this term.

USS Dresden

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Calé Reilly

How is your ship looking overall? Overall the owie is coming back from its Christmas period lull. Most of the crew are back posting and those who haven’t managed yet have been in touch to say they will over the next few days. Geoff has just done a sim update and the main sim is now going again. We should be within sights of finishing soo so safety our GM and then it’ll be promotion and party time before our next adventure.

Our roster is now open again. We are on a hunt for some scientists and engineers of any one’s interested.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I’ve enjoyed back reading the side sims and threads over the Christmas period. It’s hard to nominate just one but I really have enjoyed our main sim threads

And some of the side sims are amazing, I’d love to spotlight Linds, Matt, Brandon, Jenn and James for their storylines.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Get back to full posting and fill the gaps in our roster with some more JOs in Science and Engineering. Maybe some swings.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Several months of Sim updates in one go:

The Ogawa has been updated from the older McCoy class to the new shinny Nightingale class. In order to sell star-fleet command on making more of the class, a camera crew has been assigned to the Owie to document everything that they are doing on their maiden mission.

Meanwhile, the actual mission has been a humanitarian run to Unroth 3 to deliver medical supplies and help restore some water systems at one of the refugee camps. The Owie made it there in one piece and will be seeing patients.

From a practical stand point we are 80 to 90% done with the sim. Once the crew has finished treatments they should be able to load back up and head home for their big theatrical debut. I know the sim is a little long in the tooth but hopefully it is worth it.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: 89 posts for December, it seems to be heavier on the sides sims than the main sim, however good crew interactions and I’m looking forward to seeing the ship through this term.

Outpost 42

Commanding Officer: AJ Paulson

How is your ship looking overall? Slow at first, but that’s due to everyone coming off from holiday

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Being appointed the CO

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Raising posting limits to a 3,5,7 format (FComm Notes: Holding off on this for the month of January, I want to see everyone stay within AWOL limits and some crew growth before we up from Slow to Normal speed)

Executive Officer: Kate O’Neill

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Right now we are recruiting and filling DH positions. While the activity on the OP has been slow, it was the Christmas holiday. I am confident that as we fill positions and bring new writers onto the Outpost, the activity of the DH’s and all those on the Outpost will increase.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We don’t have a lot of JO’s on the ship at this time. We are recruiting and as stated above, when the roster gets a few more JO’s and civilian’s there will be more activity in the main sim and side sims.

Who is the shining star this month? Adam Widgdahl. I think it is fair to say that while we are closing a chapter of a book, we are also starting a new one with the amazing AJ Paulson at the helm of the OP. While I know we will thrive on the Outpost with our new CO I would like to thank Adam for all his hard work and commitment to the OP for the past five years.

Adam has been an amazing CO to work under. Adam gave me the chance to be an XO and learn so much under him. Over the past five years, Adam has been a role model, mentor, friend, and if you know me....a voice of reason at times. ;) Adam created a magnificent place to RP on the Outpost for five years and it will be something I cherish and remember fondly. Thank you for all you have done for me, the crew, and Outpost 42. You will be missed.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Very slow period through December with 28 posts as well as the departure of Adam W from the command seat. I’m happy to see AJ take the reigns and already thriving with new crew and keeping the posts up since he started. I’m looking forward to seeing the ship through this term.
