The Black Fleet Report

USS Europa

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Janice B.

Crew Posting Level: 10
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: So far, everyone’s been slow but steady in their activity. Prior mentioned sims have gotten off the ground and developing well for the characters involved.

With the CO and XO, they begin to learn about unsettling happenings within Starbase 51. The highest priority case was the recent murder of a government official, concerning the senior officers of the Europa. When Avik attempted to get answers, the Admiral gave them and it only leads to more questions. Feeling they had derailed the who reason they had been assigned, the Admiral turned to address the CO about seeking out any possible threats and connections to the bizarre happenings.

Meanwhile, the conversation in the bar and grill continued with the insect-like lifeform. At some point the creature abruptly becomes on the alert for what appears to be no actual reason until the CMO ends up choking on his drink, spraying a section around the bar.

Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: The Europa is approaching the end of Act I. The Europa had a brief security breach, an unknown attacker wanted information on Crewman Jameson’s family recipe for Chicken noodle soup. However, the security breach stopped before the crew could investigate further. The Captain and XO are in a briefing with Starbase 51’s Admiral McGinnis for their next mission and a possible threat to the Federation. While the CMO and Ensign Abrams talk to a very jittery Spider alien in blue jeans whose family was murdered by an unknown race.

Spotlight: None

FComm’s Comments: FComm: As the XO states, the sim is running slow but steady. The Europa is full of veteran members and appears to be in good shape. Joe has been excused from posting as he’s currently on LOA.

USS Genesis

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: Well there’s a lot of talking going on, which isn’t too unusual for this stage of a mission. I expect it to pick up soon. The side sims seems to have lost a little energy, but we will see what happens.

Spotlight:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: FComm: The Genesis has a full roster and is keeping busy. I’m a little concerned by the number of AWOLs on the ship, though I’m sure Jules and Luke have everything under control. Great work!

USS Merrimack

Commanding Officer: David Fergusson

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The Dark Serpents Sim has completed and we just managed to escape. Some months have past and we are just about to return to Earth and visit the Academy. It should be a fun and a little more lighthearted than the most recently Sims.

The Merrimack remains fully staffed with Department Heads and posting levels have been very good. There are many active threads despite us being between Sims. We have had some changes in staff positions with Noelle leaving as CMO and Miriam being promoted. Bre has also left and Catt is bring aboard a new Andorian character called Tinga to replace her as communications officer. Tiastri’s promotion has been confirmed. These changes were all made in character. We can always use more junior officers though.

Bre is leaving with her twins because their future is already mapped out in other Starfleet ships. She just has to make sure they have no interaction with the ancestors of their father in the next hundred years until he is born, such is the problem of time travel.

Spotlight: There have been some excellent interactions between Cross and Nkosenya at the party, Nkosenya and Grey on the Bridge, and Tiastri and Kord in Kord’s Quarters. This is a real class ensemble cast on the Merrimack so difficult to single out individuals. However, Bre’s farewell thread brings tears to the eyes.

Ship Status: Posting is steady at the moment.

FComm’s Comments: FComm: The Merri is doing fantastic! Not a single AWOL, and everyone appears to be very active. Great Work!

Oed V

Commanding Officer: Tony Findora

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Oed did ok last month. We went through some of our longer AWOLs and started getting people all on the same page. There’s still plenty of background work that we are slowly working on. Most of it is waiting on me to do something.

November will be tough for me, but my hope is that with my slowly changing schedule that things will settle soon. People are still posting though, and we took the time to encourage people to try doing single character development threads to help keep them all posting. Its a good thing to do on Oed when waiting on others.

Spotlight: I’d like to spotlight Sidney and Trinity! They’ve done such a wonderful job keeping things going. Having them both in the command team was one of the best things I think that’s happened. :) You both are great! Keep up the great work!

Executive Officer: Sidney Parker

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: I just went through a major effort to clean up the roster with Tony’s support. We lost a few people and got others to get to posting. So overall it was effective. The sims are starting back up and progressing. I would say were are in the middle. Not blowing any doors off but not sitting still either.

Spotlight: Hjor is doing great as the CoP and as a Detective. Keeps things going and writes both characters well.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

AFComm’s Comments: I would say Sidney’s right. We’re right there in the middle, but once the side sims and PRSIMs pick up again, Oed will be hitting its prime again. We’ll see how that goes given the holidays coming up.

USS Olympic

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Terry Sullivan

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The sim and posting has picked up some steam since September. We now have what appears to be two murders on board that are being investigated, and we’re not sure who the doppleganger is or how they got on board.

On top of that, some kind of AI has taken over the ship’s computer system and so far locked out everyone except the CO (she’s on LOA) and the COS (she’s investigating the murders). Also the CE has been threatened with “punishment” for inquiring about the ships current “Condition Black”. Sounds pretty drastic just for asking. . .

Spotlight: I know this will be two months in a row, but I have to shine the spotlight on our resident Vulcan CE, Gene Gibbs. Not only has Gene done a great job of keeping threads alive by using a number NE engineers, but he plays an excellent Vulcan. When I read Sural’s comments, I often find myself reading it in a Vulcan monotone, just by Gene’s choice of diction. Since joining the crew, he has been a entertaining, enjoyable and consistent poster. I would suggest to anybody that wants to become better, read some of Gene’s work!!

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: FComm: The Olympic is running smoothly, but could use a few more JOs in Security or Medical. D… is excused as she’s currently on LOA.

USS Wolverine

Commanding Officer: Terry Sullivan

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: I say the ship health is high, but in (faux) reality, the crew is in terrible shape. The XO and CNS are both experiencing ungodly pain they picked up from a bacteria on the space station.. Worse news is that it is an airborne bacteria, so most likely the whole ship is infected. The good news is that we may now know what it is we’re ealing with and can get an antibiotic in place.

Other members of the crew (COS and security department) have had their DNA all tangled up when they beamed back to the ship. Our GM just keeps throwing us curveball after curveball after curveball. The problem with that many curveballs is that the crew is gonna wait for that hanging curve and take it yard!!! Get up, get outta here, GONE!!!

Everyone is keeping involved in the main sim in one way or another, with a few side sims going on. Overall, everything has been very interesting as of late on the Wolverine!!

Spotlight: Have give some props to our security team Catt and Chris for exploring the changes their characters bodies are going through due to the DNA mix-up!! Both of them are doing a great job of showing their frustration and anxiety of having different body parts, yet they’re making the reactions fun to read as well. Keep up the great work!!

Executive Officer: Ray Branch

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The Wolverine has picked up in posting over the past month or so. The sim so far has been quite exciting with the transporter accident, and now a possible airborne bacteria/virus running loose.

We could use a few more JOs in security or engineering, so hit up Terry or myself!

Spotlight: I can’t really highlight just one person this month. The entire crew has done such a great job with the sim and in character interactions :)

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: FComm: See XO Report. I’d also like to state that the Wolverine has become a field for very interesting sims!
