The Meridian Fleet Report - May 2022

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We’ll we’ve screeched to a complete stop. We only have 4 people within limits, the gm. captain, xo and 1 of 4 DHs. It looks like there need to be a major infusion of crew or energy.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea why missing reports. No one’s responded to reminder emails.

Will reach out to CO to find out goals for next month.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Travis Good

How is your ship looking overall? The ship is doing amazing! We got some new people and the regular crew has been posting in the Main SIM and are having deep Side SIM’S as well.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Kastarak and Umbri are both doing a great job at character building. Their posts are very deep and the XO is posing the part of the purple that they’re talking to. All three are exceptional writers.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Need more Security and Science JO’s.

Executive Officer: Trinity Fister

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We saw a boost in DH involvement in Main and SideSIMs throughout May with only a few brief AWOLs and LOAs toward the end of the month when vacation time, school and IRL caught up with some folks. I have particularly enjoyed reading as Chris Logan’s character, Lt. Lovejoy learns and redefines the leader she wants to be. Truthfully, I am impressed by the creativity and passion of all of our DHs this month, and I love forward to June!

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?David Robinson Jr joined us this month with his exchange officer, Pawl Batario, an engineer who transferred to the Chernov from Betazed. Welcome aboard, David! Furthermore, Richard A added ‘Counsellor’ to Doctor Kastarak’s duties this month. I cannot wait to see how he personalises the role!

We’ve seen an upward trend in JO involvement in the MainSIM with steady posting in SideSIMs from previous months. Although we experienced some AWOLs at the end of May, they’ve all since been resolved and everyone is back to their fabulous posting.

Who is the shining star this month? David Robinson is May’s shining star! He boarded on May 12 and immediately hit the ground running with his check-ins, introducing us to a character with infectious enthusiasm and readiness to get involved. One of his peers mentioned how much he’s enjoyed learning about Pawl’s personality, vulnerabilities and strengths and I have to agree! David has been a wonderful addition to the crew and I very much look forward to watching as his character grows. Congrats, David!

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Chernov is fairing better. More sim participation and it’s going well with new players.

Will work with CO to see what goals are for the coming month.

USS Odin

Commanding Officer: Jerome Davis

How is your ship looking overall? Things are looking up for the Odin. In the past few weeks, we’ve completed our search for our Vacant DH slots and now have a full Command Team! Posting rates have also taken an upswing and life is returning to the ship as we continue to navigate the current sim. Looking forward to an eventful summer!

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The whole thread for the Location of Kino’s faction ( https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf5/odin/posts/174767/ ) has been an enjoyable read and I’m proud of everyone involved

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Fill in more JO’s and bring consistency to the story progression

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea for missing reports. No responses to reminder emails.

Will work with CO, XO and GM to see what we can do about the shift to more main sim posts now that posting is more regular and main sim is in full swing.

USS Saracen

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea why no reports. No responses to reminder emails.

USS Sentinel

Commanding Officer: Matt Bongiorno

How is your ship looking overall? The ship is looking solid with activity. We have one AWOL that is being addressed currently, otherwise we are all green. All DH positions have been filled once again. I have been encouraging the crew to post in the main sim so that we can continue to move it along at a quicker pace. I will be conducting a phaser training session side-sim to increase crew readiness for combat situations in June.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I enjoyed reading about Roman’s family story arc.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Activity in the main sim.

Executive Officer: Nicole Cline

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have a few AWOLs and LOAs. DHs are active in side sims. They could use a little more participation in the main sim, though I suspect the LOAs may be to blame for that.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?JOs have been participating in both the main and side sim fairly evenly. Ship activity seems to be doing good. Our newer JOs have joined into the main sim and have posted to several side sims.

Who is the shining star this month? Abigail with her character Kovan for her activity and quality posts this month.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Sentinel did pretty well this past month! Landing party 2 in Valiki is currently making contact with a Barovian fisherman that seems to have observed some ‘strange lights’ in the sky near where possibly the warp bubble they detected had been. Landing party 3 in Barovia village is currently enjoying a dinner at the Blood On The Vine Tavern, and some are interacting with shady figures to learn more. On the ship the engineering staff have handled the strange ghostly power drains and are currently doing repairs.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: Well work with CO to see how we can up main sim participation. Ship doing well in keeping AWOL and LOAs in check.

Overall the ships seem to be doing fair to very well. Missing DH spots are being filled and the COs I’ve heard from say main sim and side sim participations are picking up once more. I’m hoping we’ll all do well though I expect a bit of a deep off at the end of coming month with next major holiday (4th of July in USA).

I’ll continue to work with the COs XOs and GMs to see what they need help with in regards to obtaining more significant upticks in main sim posting.
