The Foremost Fleet Report - May 2022

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

How is your ship looking overall? Overall the ark angel is looking good! We had/have some awols and loas here and there but nothing too serious. Sim wise the sim is moving ahead with the Synthesis team having to contend with one of the blob creatures having stuck itself to poor Miz’uki’s head. While on the Ark Angel a much larger blob is making its way to one of the ship’s arboretums. While in the biology lab those there are trying to find a way to communicate with the blob they captured. Finally on the bridge Drudoc and company are busy fighting some lost late 22nd century romulan warbirds that just showed up!

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want to get down and dirty with all players on the ship and individually talk to them about what I can do to help them improve their posting, move up in the chain of the club/ship, and other similar things to help the Angel continue to be one of the best ships in the club!

Executive Officer: Sam Pennington

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DHs are staying busy, mostly in the main sim.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We’re a little JO light, but those we have are engaged with the main sim pretty well.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Overall the ark angel is looking good!

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? I know he’s given me a lot of flak/whining (good whining I promise!)/bsing about the ‘pain’ poor Miz’uki is undergoing but Kirt Gartner has been a real trooper to help drive the sim forward in the last part of this month!

FComm’s Comments: Just as the first month of taking over as FComm closes I have sen a lot of hard work and effort on the AA and while there are some AWOLs and LOAs this is something that is occurring across the club and clearly there is procedures in place from the command team. The main sim is active and there’s a lot of great character development going on. Some vacancies means that this is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a new ship to get involved.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Sam Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? The Asimov has been pretty active this month. The main sim is shifting into a new phase and IC tensions are high. Overall we have a good group writing good posts.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I really enjoyed the CMO and CO first encounter thread that’s just wrapping up now.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’d like to fill our sudden CSO vacancy before too long.

Executive Officer: No report submitted - Excused, Kidnapped by real life, aka LOA

Gamemaster: James Sinclair

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Asimov has selected for a singularly important yet totally covert mission: Insert a double agent into a clandestine criminal syndicate that may have infiltrated Star Fleet and the Federation at some of the highest levels. The agent in question had been replaced by a syndicate operative, but that operative was discovered and the original agent rescued. Now, a few high-ranking officials have decided to replace the replacement with the original. To do this, they have asked the Asimov to do the unthinkable…

Become the very thing that they stand against.

Dispatched to a wholly unknown and alien station inside an unavigatbale nebula, the crew of the Asimov has spent the better part of a month preparing the ship and themselves to become pirates… marauders… saboteurs… and traitors. For anyone outside the crew, the Asimov is a rogue ship whose crew either went criminal… or was killed trying to stay the course. Now, wanted for crimes and treason, the Asimov must insert themselves inside a highly intelligent and very cautious criminal organization whose motivations and reach are unknown. They must ‘return’ the agent, stay close enough to extract them when the time is right, and keep the organization from discovering their true mission:

To bring down the Shadow Syndicate from the inside and bring that agent home.

To this end, the crew of the Asimov is departing the station and preparing for their new life of crime. A life that will consist of attackng the very citizens they swore an oath to protect.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? The entire crew is invested, and is really solid about moving things forward even as I have been swamped in RL.

FComm’s Comments: As the first month of taking over as FComm closes the Azzy seems to be doing well. The sim is active and engaging and a lot of side aiming happening which is making the ship an interesting place to be right now. Some good character development occurring and new characters hitting the ground running. There are a few LOAs and AWOLS but as I have said in other ship reports this seems a club wide issue, and the Command team are working on this and have been in communication with me about it. There’s some vacancies that ideally we’d like to see filled by next months report but plenty of opportunity for others across the club to get involved with if they are looking for a rich character experience on a more slower posting limit ship.

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon

How is your ship looking overall? We are well. Sim is going forward. Little issue with writers but things are straightening out.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? This was a rough month for posts. I’m thankful everyone’s participating.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. My participation needs to pick up. Till I do that, it’s hard to ask others to. So all of us getting better is my goal next month.

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Overall it seems like the DH’s we have are doing a good job. Not much room for side sims at this moment among the DH’s.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?As always our JO’s are excelling at keeping things going, thank you both Gene and Janice. Janice and I have a small side simm going that is a continuation of between the missions.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Bonnie has been .....slowish....this past month. A few awols/loas dragged things almost to a halt by the end of this month. Which I was sad to see, but we did make some progress in the sim. On the planet the landing party has set up shop near the Columbia shuttle from 2003, and established it is from 2003 Earth and been here since that time. They also have established that through dna residue somehow the original crew all survived, and not only that seemingly are still alive after almost 150 years! On the ship the XO and his army of NEs are trying to better grasp scans in the region where the landing party are present.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: As the first month of taking over as FComm closes The Bonnie has seemed slower than I have expected in the last. There’s some progress being made on the main sim front which is great but not a whole lot of other activity. AWOLS and LOAs have been responsible for much of this slowing but there seems to be work happening on that. There’s some vaccancies that ideally we’d like to see filled by next months report but overall a lot going well for the Bonnie and potential to improve already underway. Again if you are looking for a new ship and love the enterprise era this ship has so much character development opertunities that it would be a shame to miss checking it out.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: No report submitted - Excused, missing…presumed Gone.

Executive Officer: No report submitted - Excused just returned from LOA

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Because they do not exist and nonexistent people don’t do reports. Normally…only sometimes…not really

FComm’s Comments: As the first month of taking over as FComm closes The Levi is in a bit of a difficult situation, a first since it’s move to the fleet. The reports for the CO and XO are excused due to stepping down and LOA respectively. The hunt is in for a new CO and Sam and I will be making our recommendations shortly. Nate has stepped in as aCO in the meantime and we will have a recovery plan in place with the new CO once they are appointed.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

How is your ship looking overall? The ship doing very well. We have lost our CSO and are looking for a replacement, but the Sim is progressing and we have multiple side Sims going. Posting doubled over the past month, up from 113 to 227 for the month.

Awol’s are minimal, the redness of the roster due to people with multiple characters aboard. All in all, the ship is a great to be!

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The wedding thread that was the final act of Faye Calloway aboard was beautiful.

https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/173301/

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Less Awol’s, and some additional players to help drive character development outside the main.

Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our DHs are active and participating, except for one outstanding AWOL at the moment that is being addressed. There are several side sims still going on. They are providing a rich depth of development and insight into the characters and how multifaceted they can be, the struggles they face and how they overcome or accept them.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The JOs are all participating in side sims or check-ins as well as in the main sim where they are needed. They have brought some fresh energy to the crew and stories.

Who is the shining star this month? William Deaton as Lt Issac Forgrave, COS. His arrival thread has been fun and is leading into a small mystery of what has been added to his belongings. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/173952/

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Manhattan passed through another temporal wave. This time it was less of a dramatic effect than the first, at least for the ship. Space around them changed dramatically. At the very point where the Hegemony ships were about to fire on the Manhattan, suddenly, in the midst of this, that wave passed and they disappeared. The star system they were near was altered vastly - now intact and pristine where before it was a ruin. They were, however, able to lock into the source of this wave and make their way there. On arriving they found the planet where the wave originated. Upon it was a single city surrounded by a wasteland. The city, able to contain many, had only a fraction of the people it could hold. Scans and searches showed an advanced civilization, the city the stable point amidst what was a temporal chaos throughout the rest of the world. At this point the crew is searching out the mysteries of this city and what this wave was and what was going on. While the city showed a kind of subspace receiver they were not transmitting. No satellites or anything were in orbit.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Steve Johnson for his musings and probes for information on what was going on, and Lindsay for her clever ways of keeping conversation going in sickbay as counselor while still finding a way to keep that scene firmly rooted in the sim.

FComm’s Comments: As the first month of taking over as FComm closes The Manhattan has show itself to be a flurry of activity and interesting character development and stories. This is a ship to make some popcorn for when you settle down to read. They have had the same AWOL and LOA issues as others across the fleet and club but that hasn’t deterred the crew or diminished the excellent writing. Again some vacancies which we’d like to see filled by next months report but a fantastic opportunity for others in the club to get involved in a ship you can really get your teeth into with some very talented writers.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: No report submitted - Excussed - Panda Pardoned

Executive Officer: Nicholas Villarreal

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Everyone is posting within AWOL limits, but we’re mostly just dealing with the main sim at the moment.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have one JO, but said JO is as active as possible at the moment.

Who is the shining star this month? It’s been a slow month for the most part. However, Nathan Derricutt as KT-QT has put forward a strong effort to become involved in posting on the Memorial.

Gamemaster: Sam Pennington

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The USS Memorial was dispatched to investigate a distress signal from the planet Eridion. Long since abandoned, the starfleet base there should be empty. Underground however has been discovered to be an entire society, run by a highly secretive council of elders and one who calls himself the king.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? The XO, Nick V.

FComm’s Comments: As the first month of taking over as FComm closes The memorial is doing well within its posting speed. There have been some AWOLs and LOAs as other ships have had which have contributed to its slower than usual pace. Despite this there has been some great main sim progress and good side simming opportunities for players. Some vacancies available so a great chance for other players to get involved if they are looking for a more slow pasted posting limit.

Overall comments:

This is the first month since I’ve taken over as FComm. I have really enjoyed getting a chance to read and experience the ships in the foremost fleet again and also thoroughly loved the chance to work with Sam who is an utterly fantastic partner in crime. I have to tip my hat to both the command teams of the fleet who work tirelessly with their ships and crews to maintain a healthy role play environment. We as a fleet, may not always have each roster green all of the time, and we have AWOLs and LOAs to contend with but each ship has an environment that is engaging and community spirited and encouraging of its players and that’s great to see. Also I really have to credit Jennifer Ward for doing such a great job with the fleet this term before I took over, the good work is testimony to her as FComm so thank you Jenn.

The foremost fleet is a hive of unique rp environments. We have two excellent Alt RPGs to check out both thematic and era based and four normal era based environments which have a lot to offer, including two ships who sport a slow posting speed which is great for those looking for a new ship but not able to post as frequently as a medium ship speed requires. There is also a number of DH roles available, excellent for those newer members who haven’t had the chance to do that yet. I implore you as a membership to check out and reach out to the ships of the foremost fleet, I guarantee you won’t regret it.
