We have an election! Two actually. 16 people voted, 9, votes were required to elect.

In the second election for the 16 month term, replacing Joe, the votes were as follows:

Sarah is the winner! Both will assume office starting July 1st. The tie breaking vote was not used.
There were two irregularities that need to be addressed:
First, the matter of missing statements of availability. As was described in another post, two persons filed statements of availability via the ec auto forward. For whatever reason I did not get them. The matter has already been referred to Tech and is under investigation. I made the decision to allow all the candidates to stand for election who wanted to, one withdrew their name for consideration. It is worth noting that had I gotten the two statements we would not have needed to lower the rank requirement.
This action should not be considered a precedent that people can make themselves available after the deadline and still expect to get in. This was a one off technical glitch and future Election Coordinators are encouraged to use their best judgement given the facts of their unique situation.
Second, There was the question of whether Tech Board members are considered part of the government. The answer is unquestionably yes for many reasons including they are the successor of government roles. However, neither TECH nor MOO explicitly call them out as such. There for I refer this matter to the executives with the recommendation to update MOO to remove references of IDept and Coder and replace them with the Tech Board.
