USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

How is your ship looking overall? Overall the Ark Angel is looking pretty good i think! We’re still in between sims, but mostly that is due to me wanting to do our usual post misison side sim party and stuff like that. And in the past week or so delays due to my life picked up so that stalled everything. That said beyond that the ship is healthy mostly barring only a brief awol/loa and otherwise the crew is active in side sims either on their own or with our party thread

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want to get my new XO Mika trained up in full, and I want to expand some of our JOs and get the next sim going

Executive Officer: Mika Jackson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Currently we are between sims and there is a celebration sim to highlight moments from the previous sim/mission. Even so, I am impressed by the responsiveness of the department heads when a new thread is posted. As a new XO I posted a thread for each of them and all of them responded quickly. Everyone on the ship is participating within their posting limits and there are some interesting stories that I cannot wait to be involved in.
Since I have been on the ship I have not seen many AWOLS as the crew is good about posting a LOA.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We only have two JO at the time and they both are doing well. I mentioned we are currently in between sims, but Amdirgol (Demil Lis) has his own side sim going on and Christina (Luna) has been active in the celebration sim. I have not had a chance to connect with these two but I am looking forward to it.
As I settle into my role as XO, I am continuously working on recruiting new crew. An ongoing effort as many of our current club members already has the postings they want and/or are not interested in taking on new characters at this point.

Who is the shining star this month? Everyone on the Ark Angel! However, I have noticed some standouts since I have been on the ship. V’alura Belmont played by Abigail G is a lively character, I love the exaggerated personality of the character and I look forward to doing more sims/threads with her. Another character I was impressed with was Kyle Anders played by Kieron Hoult. I am on other ships with Kieron and this character he plays on the Ark Angel is one of the best I have seen him roleplay.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: See CO report

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

AFComm’s Comments: With Mika Jackson settling in as XO, as far as my fuzzy ears have heard, she is settling in well. While the ship is between sims the Ark Angel seems to be cruising right along with well above average posting speeds. Her roster is green with no real AWOLs at this time.
We’d like to welcome their new chief engineer to the crew in the form of S Kimmel. Additionally welcome to the new Doctor, Johnathan Baptiste, played by Christopher Huskins.
Overall, the Ark Angel seems healthy, thriving, and having a good time.
The AA could use another addition to the medical staff whether it be a doctor, nurse, or other medic. The Engineering team could stand a couple more JO’s for anyone looking to get to know a Mythology-class a little better

FComm’s Comments: The AA had a good month overall with some new blood entering the crew mix. There have been some great side sims going on as the main sim ended and transitions began, at this time it is assumed that Rob will continue as GM for the next sim as nothing has been sent regarding requesting permission for a new GM etc so I look forward to see where the next story takes the crew.
Vacancies wise there is some great opportunities to get involved here as a JO in most departments but medical and engineering in particular so definitely something to check out for those looking for a new ship.
Well done to Rob, Mika and their team!

USS Asimov USS Rabid Pelican

Commanding Officer: Sam Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? The Asimov has been fairly active this month. We’ve gained more side sim activity recently.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’m going to make sure everything on our MOTD is correct and up to date.

Executive Officer: Matt Bongiorno

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DHs are doing well. There are no AWOLs on the roster currently aside from the GM. However, they plan to post this week.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? There are no JOs on the Asimov.

Who is the shining star this month? Mika Jackson

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Excused due to real life kidnap. Negotiations underway to secure release, note for future reference bamboo cookies and Fox treats are not considered legal tender. Who knew?

AFComm’s Comments:

The Asimov has been even busier this month than last month, with busy side-sims as well as finally kicking off our first act of piracy in the main sim. I’m sure our boarding party will have a few nasty surprises waiting on them in what’s left of the Tellarite freighter.
I’d like to welcome David Eads back as Tolar Zareth, our new CSO. Though it seems the man er Andorian has something to hide.
The Main Sim has felt a little slower this month, but the crew has kept very busy with lots of wonderful posting and writing with burnt bridges and mending fences. And maybe a bum fight gentlemanly clash in Sickbay.
Despite a few LOA’s the ship is a neat, wonderful green. Healthy and beyond thriving, the Asimov is a tiny but mighty ship. Can’t wait to see what August brings us.
The Asimov could use JOs of all types. If you’re looking for a ship with slow posting speed but lots of activity with colorful characters, with excellent and friendly writers, this is a great fit for you.

FComm’s Comment: Some LOAs have slowed the main sim slightly but crew engagement that we saw up last month has continued into this month despite this. There is some great character interaction taking place and a little something for everyone in terms of the side sims themselves. The Azzy has really shown itself to be a collaborative writing space which is amazing. Some new blood in the form of Dave Eades this month was a great addition to round out the missing science DH. There are some JO opportunities across the board available on the Azzy so if you are looking for a slow ship that gives you scope to explore your character then check this out. Well done to Sam, Matt and their team.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: Sharon Miller

How is your ship looking overall? -----
Captain’s Log - July

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more. Or close the wall up with our dead!

We set out once again, my crew and I, into the great unknown. Yet like a prisoner released from isotropic darkness I find myself daunted by the glare of natural light. The journey before us is indeed great, although I suspect the ARU to employ some secret methods for hastening our tread. But in truth I have no urgency to reach the Kessik system, still unsure of what awaits us onboard the silent USS Celeste, or whether her deadly cargo remains safely contained and intact.

But the capability of my crew provides much comfort, bolstered further this month by the return of a dear old friend. Ryder Raauhl, the charming Trill and my former right hand man has, to my delight, agreed a return to this most perilous of posts. And with naught to be gained from the realms of either safety or calm, my crew has at least been uplifted by some new and more practical uniforms. Although whether that “Anti-Mucus Cleaner” will be worth the price invested in it remains to be seen!

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

July saw me landing a new job and making preparations to leave my current one, which sadly left less time for the Leviathan than I’d have liked. Coupled with a typical summer spate of LOA’s and it’s been a much slower month than I’d hoped. Still, we did manage to leave the starbase and launch into a new main storyline and altogether made a not too terrible 136 posts.
Our XO, Nathan, fell victim to the anomaly that is real life this month and resigned his place on the ship. But in an incredible stroke of good fortune, on the very same day, former XO Jake contacted me to talk about a return to the Levi, so welcoming him back to that role was a no brainer. We also added another JO into security/RTF with Rusty Boshankles, so I’m excited to see what energy his Klingon brings to the ship.

Sim-wise, as mentioned, we are in the opening stages of an investigation into the USS Celeste. Returning to the starbase with an incredibly dangerous cargo, this ARU exploration vessel has fallen silent. It will be up to the Leviathan to locate her and confirm not only the status of her crew, but also of the terrifying anomaly DA8012059, more colloquially known as the ‘rage muffin’.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? A brief conversation in discord on alternative uniforms for the Levi crew saw Gavin Burkhardt kick off a hilaious episode of starbase shopping, featuring a star-turn by Russell Watt as the intriguingly resourceful Sam the Shopkeeper!
https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/182122/

Personal spotlight: The crew have all done a great job this month in keeping the ship active during my own time away, but special mention should go to Gavin Burkhardt for not only creating the best thread of the month with the Starbase Shopping trip but also jumping into our D&D holodeck thread with enthusiasm and a great fantasy character!

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. As our main storyline of the USS Celeste unfolds, I’m hoping to see all of the departments get fully involved, as well as continue with the fantastically entertaining personal threads at which this crew seems to excel!

Executive Officer: J Ridgley

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Having only just returned it would be unfair for me to write up any DHs, however having come back I can see the ship is still active and that is usually down to the work DHs put into their roles and thier departments.

I look forward to working with the DHs and getting some great writing done.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The real heroes of the ship the JOs are remaining active despite having exchanged command staff over the last few months and more recently, they are keeping themselves busy with side sims and our main sim js just kicking off.

Who is the shining star this month? It would be unfair for me to hand this out having only just returned, as a result I shall give two stars out next month!

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Non existent people do not submit reports I am told. I am investigating g this further because I keep receiving requisition orders for an iron candle holder, a Ram skull, a phoenix egg, chalk, a litter of Tru Blood (blood substitute TM) and 1,000 pillar candles. which is signed for by the Levi Gm…I’ll talk to Sharon about that…

AFComm’s Comments: The Leviathan has been the busiest of the standard speed ships this month with well above average posting. Though at the moment there are a number of people out on LOAs, with a small number of outstanding AWOLs. With so many holes at the moment it’s a testament to the ship’s strength that she is still busy. Some of the post count is a little inflated, and hopefully with people coming off LOA the Levi will perk up in the coming weeks.
The Leviathan already sports a good sized roster, but with her specialized mission and operations she can always use more victims er… fresh bodies .. .I mean crew. Yes, crew. She’s a standard speed ship, but not for the inexperienced as she can be a challenging environment. Contact Sharon if you think you have an idea that would fit.

FComm’s Comments: A busy month for the Levi, some AWOLs and LOAs but things are still ticking over as the crew get themselves organise and ready to embark on their newest mission. Jake has stepped into replace Nathan as XO with puts the Levi’s original command team back together, exciting times! The levi has met their target of minimum posting required for their speed but given the position between story lines and the LOAs and AWOLs I expect this to be better still over the coming months. If you are looking for something different in the darker, creepier side of trek then this beauty of an alt rpg is for you…just make sure you take out a good insurance policy that covers ghost shark bites and hell fire demon burns etc as standard first. Well done to Sharon, Jake and their team.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: No report submitted - Excused- Negations for James’ release are still on going from the notorious serial kidnapper Raul Lyffe who has taken James…baked goods are still not considered legal tender. We may need to bring in an expert negotiator on this…with luck next month we will have secured James’ release.

Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DHs are all active in the main sim, either planet side meeting what we hope are new friends or on the ship ready to snag the team out of certain danger. There are a few side sims occuring, slow paced but providing great story telling.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have two JOs currently and they are both on the away team (one currently on LOA) for the main sim. Side sims are include basic onboarding check-ins. Which happen to be my favorite part of meeting new characters and really getting our first glimpse of them.

Who is the shining star this month? Honestly I can’t think of any one person to identify. Everyone has really been doing outstanding writing and helping to move the sim along. I really did love this thread where the away team was prepping to leave and the banter between the crew. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/181783/

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Manhattan has encountered two unidentified waves of energy that has affected the ship and crew in random ways, pushing some younger and some older and some untouched. Each passage of this wave has caused a dramatic change in the space around them. The source of this wave was a single world at the far end of the sector. Upon approach a buoy identified the system as being under ‘temporal quarantine’ and warned them away. Finally managing to hail the planet, named Marilia, which housed but a single city, called Tramelorin, they were invited down to join them. The Manhattan was navigated into the atmosphere and under the light shielding of the city so as to (hopefully) not be affected by more of these temporal waves. Discussions are just under way to find out what is actually going on.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? I can’t name just a single person here. The sim this past month was more of a logistical get things ready for that away team and executing said beast. So many of the crew contributed to this in keeping the threads moving and keeping things going that there isn’t a single shining star, but a whole constellation of them. Well done, crew!

AFComm’s Comments: The Manhattan has been the slowest ship in the fleet this month, though still above the average. She seems to be doing well, plugging along, despite a number of LOAs, especially with her CO and XO out of commission at the moment. There are a small number of outstanding AWOLs the others are only lapsed by a few days, which I’m sure will clear up quickly. The main sim seems to be moving along, and plenty of side-sim activity.
Overall, despite people being out for various illnesses and the like, the Manhattan continues to keep its head above water and is paddling along.
The Manhattan is in need of another medical JO, some more engineers, and at least one more security officer.

FComm’s Comments: The Manhattan has had a few LOAs and AWOLs but still proves itself to be a storytelling guru meeting it’s expected posting for its speed despite this. There are some great main sim points happening and some awesome side sims with really rich character development which is definitely worth reading if you aren’t on the ship! There are some vacancies available so If you are looking for an average posting speed, exciting ship where you can really grow and explore your character then you really need to check out the Manhttan! It’s the place to be.
Well done to James, Jenn and their team!

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner

How is your ship looking overall? We are holding our own right now looking to add people when we can improve the MOTD and just go with the flow

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Our New CNS played by the lovely and perfect Cale Reilly Posted a novel for her intro post :D

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.just keep going with the flow of things and see where the club takes us

Executive Officer: Nicholas Villarreal

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Everyone in the senior staff is back from LOA, and everyone is actively posting. There are a couple of minor side sims, and the main sim is getting responses from everyone available. Our new swing DH members, an Intelligence Officer and a Counselor, started on their roles soon after they joined.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We only have JOs in the Medical department. One has just come off a long absence, and the other recently joined the ship. They’re keeping relatively within AWOL limits, although the current nature of the sim means that they’re only participating in side sims for the moment.

Who is the shining star this month? Sam Haynes as our COS, Maria Beckett, has been making active and relevant posts in various areas around the ship. The Fox’s activity is setting a positive example for the rest of the crew, me included.

Gamemaster: Sam Pennington

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Memorial was called to investigate a distress signal from an abandoned outpost and has discovered a civilization was born from those abandoned at the outpost decades earlier.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

AFComm’s comments: July has seen a marked increase in posting and activity for the Memorial. For a slow ship she is well above average for posting, with decent activity in the main sim but lots of side simming. Cale is settling in nicely as our new Counselor, Doctor Rowan, though some of us have kept the Panda quite busy.
The ship has only one bit of red at the time of this posting which Is really nothing, and should clear up shortly. Two LOAs leave us a tiny bit short but overall, the Memorial is doing much better.
Now if we could just deal with this confounded King and his … vassals?
The Memorial could use more security, science, and engineering JO’s. Sickbay seems to be well-crewed for now.

FComm’s Comments: With increased posting and some movement in the main sim and some more side sims there has been a good deal of improvement for the memorial this month. There is new crew involved which is fun to see as they find their feet and a new MOTD in the works to give the ship a bit of a face lift and a boost. Some LOAs across the ship have not slowed things down much and the command team continues to work on crew engagement which is starting to pay off, there is still work to do but things are looking much better. As a slow ship the memorial has done above its minimum expectation but I know Kirt and Nick and Sam are looking to improve on that in the coming months. There’s a lot of places to get involved with this ship so if you are looking for a slow pace environment to try your hand at something new or maybe branching out from only one or two characters check out the memorial for all your adventure needs.
Well done to Kirt, Nick and their team.

SS Sojourner

Commanding Officer: Nicole Cline

How is your ship looking overall? Overall, the crew seems excited to see where things are going, I’m seeing some good activity and side simming overall as we get our main sim under way. Previously the SS Bonaventure, we’ve rewritten and updated the ship’s charter and renamed it the SS Sojourner. Also, we’ve moved back to 2149 in order to allow more creativity in Rob’s sims.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Gene Gibbs plays our Eng JO and has named all our NEs. His thread describing the decom of Bonnie and the prep of launching the Sojourner is absolutely amazing. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/sojourner/posts/179832/

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Sojourner (the Bonnie previously) has had a lack of side sims and characterization happening. I want to focus not just on how to create amazing characterization in the main sim, but also encourage this incredible group of writers to write their own side sims and adventures.

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The Sojourner is looking great! With the switch to the new ship, people are busy posting right now, and Nicole is working to get everyone involved. We have just started the main sim, so people are slowly getting roped into that.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?JO’s are doing good! As with the DH’s they are starting to get back into the swing of things with the new ship. But we have a lot of good side sims going right now.

Who is the shining star this month? Welcome to all of our new crew!

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Sonnie is just getting boarded, and the new sim has begun! The crew are off to the unclaimed Wolf 359 system which is home to two planets both quite valuable for the burgeoning Earth Starfleet to claim for mining. The crew otherwise is settling in and getting their footing on the new ship.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

AFComm’s Comments: Ah, the Sojourner. The second fastest ship in the fleet this month. For a slow ship she is way way beyond our expectations. River and Steve are keeping her a nice, beautiful shade of green, with only a couple LOA’s with people being out for various reasons.
I’m so pleased to see plenty of side-sims this month, but with the influx of new crew and changes to the ship this is to be expected. With the Sojo launching a new mission, we hope she will continue to thrive and show new life for a long while.
The Sojourner could use a little more muscle to it’s armory officer group. Never know how big of a stick you’re gonna need in the dark. Sickbay could use a couple more hands as well. Of course the Science and Engineering teams could use another hand as well, but are less in-need at the moment.

FComm’s Comments: Well a bit of a mad month for the Bonnie/Sojourner! A new CO a new name, a new MOTD and a reboot with an influx of fresh and returning people has given this ENT Alt a huge boost. As River said in her report there is an increase in side simming going on and some great character interactions as the crew find their way together into their first sim on the new ship. I am excited to see where the story leads and where things go from here. Crew engagement is up and the main DH positions have been filled. The ship is posting above its minimum requirements for a slow paced ship. Things are looking good and I know River and Steve and Rob are going to keep working on that over the months to come. The Sojo is our only Enterprise era ship so if you are an ENT fan or want to get a character in where the federation is still in its roots and things are a little bit rough and ready this is 100% the place for you! Email the command team you won’t regret it. Well done to Rive, Steve and their team.

Overall Comments: The Foremost fleet is a hotbed of activity! We have been working on the regular fleet issues with AWOLs and crew engagement which is starting to pay off. Huge amounts of work have been out in by all of the command teams and their crews and while there is still work to be done I am proud of each ship and crew and everything the do for the fleet as we move into August. There are plans still underway for some MOTD work etc coming along behind the scenes.

The Adventures of the Mysterious Aquatic D

We join our Hero, the Mysterious Aquatic D onboard the USS Pathfinder, where he has been brought on board as a specialist advisor in the pursuit of the missing starship the USS Gehrman it’s last known location in a little unexplored region of space just beyond the federations furthest outpost. As they approach the region of space our hero is surprised along with the crew to find the ship completely intact but with the crew…missing (presumed gone). As they begin their investigations it becomes clear from the ships logs that the crew encountered a monstrous creature: a large mass of tentacles that spread out from what seemed to be a dense ion storm. It’s appearance caused a shockwave which knocked out the engines and communications but did nothing else…or so it seemed. For weeks, there was a standoff as repairs are made to the ship’s engines. During this time, a few crew members on board the ship reported becoming able to communicate with the creature through prayer and seances and believe that it had once lived on Earth! The ships captain’s log argued that he was somewhat sceptical of this until the creature began communicating telepathically with him! The logs then become degraded. As our hero seeks answers by trying to fix the missing log entries he finds himself thrown from the chair in his lab. The red alert sounding. Racing to the bridge he arrives just in time to see with abject horror the same creature as described beginning to emerge from a great chasm in space! That does t seem to be the worst of it however as the first officer and some crew desperately tries to restrain the captain and the helms officer who he hurriedly tries to explain suddenly felt compelled to steer the ship into the mass and be consumed by it!! The ship is now on a collision course with the creature!

What is this mass? What will our Hero do and can he prevent the Pathfinder from its fate?

Stay tuned for the next part of the Adventures of the Mysterious Aquatic D!
