The Meridian Fleet Report - July 2022

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Well, maybe its me. this is my second report where I have to report a severe decrease in posting. We have two threads active and only one have them has a line longer than one. So its not going well. This is a couple of months of down posts for the big ‘O’. I’m going to start a side sim next week to see if I can get some action going.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Not sure what to do to help. Everyone’s putting out the word, but no one’s joining this special niche ship.
While I may not be FComm next term, if I were, I’d focus on taking to those who most recently left or dropped posting to see if there’s something we can do to bring them back.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Travis Good

How is your ship looking overall? I’m late sending this. I apologize.
The ship is doing good. The Main Sim lagged a bit because I’ve had a bunch of real life things happen. The start of a new school year has slowed a couple of our regular members. But we are maintaining.

We are getting ready to steal the Romulan ship (again) and had towards Klingon.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I don’t have a favorite post but I do like how Pawl is learning to be human and understand all of its since its different than Beatizoid. It’s refreshing.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I need to learn to communicate with my XO more. She’s really awesome! We need more JO’S.

Executive Officer: Trinity Fister

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We had a slow month with MainSIM development due to real life constraints. That said, our DHs kept busy and took this time to explore their characters through an array of creative and rich SideSIMS! It’s been a treat to learn about the DHs through a less stressful, ‘fire-at-will!’ lens that revealed a little more about who’s underneath the uniform. Fantastic job!

Currently, we have two LOAs lasting until mid-August, but I have no concerns for the DHs. We’ve seen a considerable boost in engagement over the past few months and I hope with that comes added enjoyment, too.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Rusty Boshankles returned with his security officer, T’Kul Valharra, to the Chernov this month. Welcome back, Rusty!

Despite a few LOAs/AWOLs and a slow-moving MainSIM, the JOs had no trouble making space for casual banter about technology requirements and random observations. They also engaged in lots of SideSIMs that kept the boards and everyone reading on their toes! I especially enjoyed the back-and-forth between Serral (River) and Kastarak (Ric) as they tried to assess (“get to know”) each other in the most Vulcan way I ever read. Nicely done, everyone!

Who is the shining star this month? Ric A (Doctor Kastarak) — He inspires us with his stream-of-consciousness style posting that makes you feel like you know Doctor Kastarak personally… sometimes in a heartwrenching way. Ric is a delight both IC and OOC (we have him to thank for plotting the best course to Qo’noS) and we’re very lucky to have him aboard the Chernov. Congrats, Ric!

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Doing really well. Health seems good and under control. Everyone enjoying posting.
Were I FComm next season, I’d see about trying to help bolster the roster of this truly creative ship.

USS Odin

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea what’s happening. Were I FComm next term, I’d look into those left and those who recently departed and see if this is salvageable.

USS Saracen

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea. Like other ships, would seek those still there and those recently departed to see what’s going on. If I were FComm next season.

USS Sentinel

Commanding Officer: Matt Bongiorno

How is your ship looking overall? The ship is looking fine through the month of July. There are a couple of LoAs that are wrapping up with crew members taking summer vacations and attending various events including myself. Looking over the roster now there is only one AWOL, but they plan to get a post up this week. The side sims are still running strong as well.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? My favorite post on the ship is the main sim. We are kicking it off and I look forward to seeing what Rob has in store for us.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I would like to continue to progress forward in the main sim and see that department heads continue side sims in their departments as well.

Executive Officer: Nicole Cline

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Everyone is participating in the main sim and gathered for the mission briefing. DHs are also engaged in side sims with their JOs while we wait for the sim to get moving.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?JOs are engaged in side sims with each other or their DHs. Lots of creativity and characterization going on. They are awaiting the main sim senior staff briefing to end to get orders.

Who is the shining star this month? Our engineering folks are pondering the best way to solve different problems and trying to stump each other. Lots of creativity and fun. Highly entertaining read. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf5/sentinel/posts/181761/

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: A bit of a slow month, but active overall in posting. The new sim got started and currently I’m waiting for the CO and company to due their usual mission briefing to get going.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: Ship doing well overall. AWOL and LOAs under control. Were I FComm next term I’d help the CO with rounding out desired crew.

Sadly, this is my last term. I’ve annotated with things is recommend the next FComm look into as things I’d look into.
The couple ships that are floundering are pretty obvious… Odin and Olinski.
Chernov is doing excellent and the self sim model is working great for them.

I wish the next FComm (if it’s not me) all the best and knowledge that I’m happy to give insight into the past of any ship they want to discuss.

If I’m blessed with being FComm again, I’ll follow up as stated in my notes.

Meli the Mobstress
Out going (?) FComm
