The Meridian Fleet Report - September 2022

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The main sim has the vessels currently buzzing around the Olinski dropping their cloaking fields and revealing themselves as Romulan Birds of Prey. Now the use of late twenty-third century Romulan encoding suddenly makes sense however this also adds to the mystery because they are not flying to colors or registry with the Free Romulan State. Hopefully they want to talk and not start a round of space fisticuffs

There are several new crew that are settling in. Welcome the J Crew (James, Joana, and Jerome. )

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Try to engage the crew into writing more side sims and character development threads.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea why missing reports. No response.

Sim going well. Will try and reach out again to CO, otherwise XO, to see how we can help improve numbers in coming months.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Travis Good

How is your ship looking overall? Great! I’ve been awol a couple times but things are still doing very nicely. We got a new Weapons Officer.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Kastarak is continuing to impress me with his writing and character development.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Hey more JO’S.

Executive Officer: Trinity Fister

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We had a slow start to September with a few changes to the DH team. Alison Hanna had to take a step back from STF and, though we’re sad to see her go, we’re so happy that she’s thriving out there! In her place, Chris Logan took on the Weapons Officer role with his character, Sara Lovejoy, and James Gray stepped into the Chief Engineer with Alexander Blaze. Thank you and congrats to you both!

Musical DHs aside, we have seen a few AWOLs and LOAs throughout September, but most have been resolved at this time. Our DHs are more active as we head into October, especially in the MainSIM, and I anticipate that will continue onto November as people settle into their new roles. If nothing else, I would love to encourage some exploration/sideSIMing of the ship we’ve, er… “commandeered”.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We saw a few changes to our JO team in September, too, with Rusty Boshankles stepping into the asssitant Weapons Officer role and our brief adventure with Carl B and their character, Jordan Gaza. Thanks for joining us, Carl! And congratulations, Rusty!

There were a few AWOLs and LOAs toward the start of the month, but all of the team is green as of the time I’m writing this. The team remains consistent in posting and have no shortage of creativity and humour. A few new threads have started to pop up since the end of September, boosting activity across the boards, so I expect October will be a busier month in both Main and SideSIMs.

Who is the shining star this month? We are very lucky to have Kieron Hoult as Dr Symar, our Chief Medical Officer, and Richard A as Dr Kastarak, our counsellor/physician, aboard the Chernov! There is a stark, but intriguing contrast between their characters. Symar attempts to play apathetic against his innate disposition, while Kastarak explores the side of himself often overshadowed by discipline and logic. Their differences balance each other, encouraging both amusing and thought-provoking dialogue and storylines. I’m excited to see what the future brings for them as colleagues and individuals!

FComm’s Comments: Keeping it going! Great job.

Reaching out this month to see how we can improve numbers. But ship doing well and handling business.

USS Saracen

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea why no reports. No responses to numerous email and texts.

Posting seems to be going well. Will continue to try and reach Command Staff.

USS Sentinel

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Nicole Cline

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?DHs are doing well with everyone active in the main sim - ready to get going on our mission. We’ve replaced our CE finally. Hjortur Ingi has agreed to take over and we are really excited to see him in that position.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our JOs are doing very well with their side sims and squeezing in where they are needed with the main sim. That will pick up soon as we land on the planet. Also with people now settled at school activity is starting to return to normal.

Who is the shining star this month? The shinning star is Abigail G as Ensign Kovan ch’Sirhc! Kovan dealing with uppity colonists is pure gold!

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Things have been ......slow on the Sentinel this past month. The CO has been slow to post but from what told seems life has just been very busy for him. The XO has done well to pick up the slack though so thats good. As for me as with my other GMing ships Ive also been sadly slow to reply due to the demands of my life but the Sentinel has finally arrived at the Vok colony to beam down and begin evaluation of the rulership and help out where they can.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: No idea why no reports. No response from emails.

Sim going well. Will reach out and see how we can improve numbers.

Still no idea why several folks don’t turn in reports, despite several reminder emails. Will continue to reach out to those folks and add addendums as they come in.

Going into holidays, my goal in Oct and Nov is to reach out to Command Staff to see how we’ll be handing holiday reprieves and keep up posting.

Overall, Fleet not doing bad.
