Meridian January Fleet Report

Posted Feb. 9, 2023, 10:25 p.m. by Fleet Captain Melissa Aragon (Fleet Commander, Meridian Fleet) (Melissa Aragon)

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The main sim has the ship under attack by two Romulan style ships. Fighters have been launched and are taking fire. One of the Romulan ships is launching torpedo’s with a radiation signature indicating they could be unstable.

The CMO and the Captain are interrogating the men in the Brig to see if they can understand what is happening and why the ships are attacking the Olinski
NAME A POST

The Brig thread has some interesting turns and ways to find out information. Check it out.
THINGS TO CHANGE

Create more side sims. Engage the crew. Recruit....anyone looking for a job?

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No excuse/response from CO or GM about no report.
No idea why.

Olinski is dieing. Myself, CO, XO and CMO are only writers. Discussing future with Joe. Reached out to CO, XO and GM to discuss future or lack thereof.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Travis Good

How is your ship looking overall? The Chernov is doing great! We are posting more and moving the Main SIM forward. We are now talking with the Klingons and it looks like we are surrounded.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The two doctors are doing a very good job at not only character building but at the same time, contributing to the overall SIM. They are both fantastic writers!

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. We need more JO’s.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Not sure why no XO/GM report.
Posting is going well and all positions filled. Couple AWOL from unresolved iLOAs. Will be looking into those and perhaps filling in more JOs to help round out the ship. A great place to play!

USS Saracen

Commanding Officer: David Shotton

How is your ship looking overall? The Saracen is in a good state, slightly quieter in January as people returned from their holidays and found their rhythm again but all big positions are filled and aside from minor awols here and there all are active. Our Sim is underway from Sam Haynes doing her GMT with us and we have welcomed Mika to the ship as our new Engineering JO last month, and Shaun Tee steps into the XO position for the first time in his STF tenure. Welcome to you both!

Thank you Terry for the years you spent with us on the Saracen as our CIO and XO, your writing, friendship and knowledge was truly appreciated.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Catt Bennett and I did a small thread where my secondary Doc char delivered something to her CNS, for her pet and companion. It was a fun little thread that looks like it might have set up more interesting encounters going forward.

Another fun mention is Mika’s characters idea’s around avoiding the CMO and CNS reporting in, buuuut it looks like they may have caught up with her.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Perhaps a few extra side sims getting different writers writing places other than normal, but as long as everyone is enjoying themselves, this isn’t really a worry for me.

Executive Officer: Shaun Tee

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?I’ve just taken over as XO on the Saracen and in my first week, the DH have been active in the main sim and side sims. We’re getting ready to kick off on a new adventure together, and all signs point to great adventures ahead for the ship.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our JOs are doing great work, creating wonderful character moments and weaving their narratives into the story of the ship. Again, as I am new, I am still getting to know the character and am looking forward to fun times together.

Who is the shining star this month? I can’t pinpoint any one specifically this month. I’m proud of the entire crew for showing me how immersive character-driven story is done! I look forward to spending more time with everyone and highlighting individuals in future reports.

Gamemaster: Sam Haynes

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Saracen received a distress call from the Farsinia system. After eight hours at best speed, they have entered the system and began investigating. Collecting clues, they continue to search for the remains of the B’hari and potentially any survivors of the attack. It seems they were trying to run, and the pieces of the hull they’ve found indicate they may have drifted into the hazardous mini-nebula that runs part way through the system.

Will the Saracen’s crew weather the radiation and other hazards within? Will they be able to find the B’hari? And who is responsible for it’s disappearance? Did they flee? Or are they still out there, somewhere, just out of sight and watching, stalking the Saracen. Stay tuned, or join in.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Honestly, the whole crew has jumped in on the main sim bridge thread and all of them are making great inquiries, and showing initiative. I almost feel like I am slowing them down. Loving the effort and interest. You guys and gals rock. I’m finding I’m more and more excited to post all the time and see what the crew throws my way next, or what they will decide to do. And what might the consequences be.

FComm’s Comments: The Sentinel is doing great. All positions filled, GMT trucking along, and sim going great. New XO had survived Week One! Welcome aboard!!

Will use the coming months to see if the ship can handle a couple more JOs. It’s an amazing ship that writers would enjoy.

All reports in on time!!!

USS Sentinel

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Nicole Cline

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? They are posting, but on the slower side. Factors outside of STF have taken many people’s attention and so activity has slowed down significantly. I hope that activity will start to increase going into Feb.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? They are always posting and coming up with their own side sims to keep busy.

Who is the shining star this month? Abigail has offered a side sim that promises to provide lots of antics for the crew. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf5/sentinel/posts/196632/

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Things have been pretty slow this past month. But the sim is creeping along a bit, though slower then I would like. The away team on the planet are helping in their respective fields on Vok III managing either the forest life problems, the medical check ups for the colony, or helping fix up some local infrastructure and such. On the ship the Sentinel is moving to try to capture the odd asteroid/ship they have detected.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: No excuse or response from CO. No idea why no report.
Ship is doing ok though on the slow side. Couple extreme AWOL from leftover holiday LOAs. Looking to pick up pace again with holidays passed.
All main roster positions filled. Will see about possible JOs in coming months to join.

The fleet is 50/50 floundering and prospering! Looking into helping those in need and boosting those doing great.
