To begin- this is a thread where no idea is too stupid to say and anyone is not just welcome but encouraged to throw out their thoughts for Command.

Based on the most recent reports, and your own experiences, what are your ideas for the club’s future?

-President Sage Pennington

So my thoughts on the recent reports are a bit mixed. Some ships seem to be doing well, others not so much. Part of it from a glance seems to be stemming from multiple issues up and down the chain of command in the club so no one person is at fault I think. But I think getting everyone on the same page and quick would do a lot to help start fixing things.

That said I also liked the GMDept report mentioning no holes in ships lacking gms atm! That’s a great thing to see after SOOOOOO long! I really hope it keeps up and expands. I am also looking forward to what the CMM but also all of us in the club could do to bring in and KEEP new members. The way I see it it shouldn’t be on just one or even two people for advertising or whatever STF but everyone, word of mouth can do a lot for us if done right. We should focus on our positives rather then always highlighting negatives, yes they are a thing but there are ways to spin a good light only even negatives.

Just as a random example from my own experiences people say. “..Oh I cant contribute to STF with ship or tech designs cause its too complicated..” ok so there is some truth to that, but it is not as grandiose as I think many make it out to be. Sure if you try to do it on your own and dont try to get help at first from the EDept I will totally agree its a daunting task. But if you inquire with someone experienced having gone through the process a lot and in running the department aka like myself, its really not a big deal as it seems. My point is though alot of people see such as a negative but once I’ve been able to sit with some folks even if they dont make something and explain it they’re usually like “..oh well that’s not so hard or complicated as I thought!” which is always nice to hear

That said one task I do plan to try to tackle this term is revising the ship submission document to be less old style clunky in some ways. Still working out how to format it exactly so stay tuned on that.

Really that’s all my thoughts at present, not much else to say at present!
