The Foremost Fleet Report - April 2023

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

How is your ship looking overall? Overall the Ark Angel is looking good. Struggling a little bit with awols/loas cropping up among some of the crew and I had to release a player due to this but otherwise the sim moves ahead pretty well. Sim wise the engineering team in orbit is working on the comms relay to get it up and running. Planetside the crew is spreading out to help how they can either by checking in on a sick bull, fixing a fence and/or guarding while its fixed from local wolves, or getting out and meeting the locals while delivering mail.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Need to get a CSO Dept head. If anyone has any pointers of a new or old member who would fit to such a role please let me or my xo know!

Executive Officer: Mika Jackson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Most of the DHs on the ship are doing well and staying within AWOL limits. It shows too because when they are it moves things along in the sim.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?I am really proud of the JOs on the Ark Angel. They have been posting, finding their place in the sim and I can see character development in each post. Great job guys.

Who is the shining star this month? The shining star this month would have to be the new science officer M’Lene played by Emily S. and security officer Johnathan Raith played by Alexander Hampshire. Great writing guys. I can’t wait to learn more about your characters.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: See CO report

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: The Ark Angel had 84 posts this month, which is within the acceptable range for a Standard pace ship, but a little low from what we’ve seen. There does seem to be a little red in the roster, but nothing terribly egregious. I suspect those will be clearing up. Rob seems to be on top of it.

The Ark Angel does seem to be in need of a Chief Science Officer. Feel free to get in touch with Robert Archer or Mika Jackson if interested in one of the fleets most hopping ships.

Welcome Emily S. to the AA.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Sage Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? As soon as the CMO post came open, someone came around to fill it, which was lovely. There are plans in motion for the ship itself and the nature of this sim is a big part of that.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? It’s hard to pick just one favorite moment from a ship full of great writers. But I do enjoy the CoS’ banter with the person currently trying to purchase the ship.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’d still love to see some crew expansion, though I think on a certain level that does speak to needing more members more than anything.

Executive Officer: Riley W

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Most of the DHs are keeping active in Side Sims. The Main Sim is chugging along at a steady pace through one or two of the DHs, while others are less active in it.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We continue to have no JOs.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: James Sinclair

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Asmiov (now the ‘Rabid Pelican’) is fully immersed in their cover of mutineers-turned- marauding pirates. They are about to embark on the their most difficult and dangerous cover mission yet: abducting a pair of black marketeers from a high-security luxury yacht owned by the Orion Syndicate. The first step in this endeavor was to dock at a very unscrupulous station hidden in the middle of nowhere: The Cloud. As the characters spend some time making themselves a few extra slips of latinum, the yacht, and their true targets, approaches. But now… there could be something even more life-changing than they have experienced so far on the horizon.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Sage Pennington as the CO, Captain Sara Kiernan. Working with her on a side sim revealed the possibility for something AMAZING to happen that would be a, we believe, first for a ship. But it is tied to the SIM, so NO SPOILERS.

FComm’s Comments: The Asimov.. er Rabid Pelican had 51 posts, down from 57 last month. I’ll attribute this to an absentee CMO, which has since been rectified. It’s still within acceptable ranges for a Slow ship. As always the Asimov is looking for more crew. She solemnly swears she is up to no good. If intrigue, spy games, sneaky antics, and general shenanigans are your cup o’ tea, this is the place to be.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: Mika Jackson

How is your ship looking overall? Another slow month on the Leviathan. A few players were removed due to AWOLs and I lost a couple due to illnesses. Going to step up my recruiting efforts in the next few weeks.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? My favorite moment is when our new Containment Artchitech came aboard. Want to send a very happy welcome to Steve Alliss. Also kudos to Tom L for stepping up and taking on the role of Assistant CE while Dave is on leave.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.AWOLs of course!

Executive Officer: Sage Pennington

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Broadly speaking, the DHs are doing well. I do have a few points of concern, but we’re working to address those.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The JOs are, similarly, mostly engaged and active.

Who is the shining star this month? Steve Alliss came in recently to play a nebulous role in the form of the containment architect. I think he’s done a good job making that his own.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: THe Asimov had 77 posts this month (Down from 84 posts last month and 124 in February). However, the Roster is all green and the ship seems healthy. She seems to be doing well despite the drop in numbers, and is within healthy ranges.

As mentioned by our esteemed Captain above, the Leviathan calls for fresh blood. And I’m sure returning players will fuel the beast just as well. If you like things that go bump in the night, facing down cosmic entities/horrors, the Leviathan is the place to be.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

How is your ship looking overall? We are starting to pick up FINALLY! Due to to RL and some over commitments, we had a shake up in our DH level positions. But we have some new and talented writers on board and I am really looking forward to the new level of energy the ship is getting. March was really slow and distressing, only 86 posts that month. But April is back up to a respectable 202. We are going to try and keep that trend going.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The thread between the XO and the Counselor’s son is so endearing.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.More activity, especially in driving the main sim forward.

Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DHs have jumped right into the sim, as well as working with their JOs. They are also engaged in side sims.

We have finally fleshed out our senior staff and all DH positions are full!!!

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The JOs are doing amazing and are engaged all over. They are few but mighty. They have really contributed a lot to the sim.

Who is the shining star this month? Riley W as En Kaia is just such a fun character to read about. I really love this thread she started to welcome the new CE aboard.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Manhattan encountered a brief shift in space, temporarily slipping them into another universe and back again with the effect that it affected them through random age changes. They triangulated it to a system with a single city on it called Tramelorin. The aliens there welcomed them and explained that something they had done millennia ago was, in effect, coming back to bite them. In an effort to save their society which they feared was coming to an end with their sun becoming unstable they pushed several of their cities back in time. Each city was linked to each other along a temporal chain with Tramelorin being one of the anchor points. However, another city, that of Bakkalia, attempting to shift itself ahead in the chain caused an energy feedback that began to cascade throughout this chain threatening the existence of not one universe but seven - all those that these cities reside in. Thus far this is what the crew of the Manhattan has discovered and are at the point of deciding what to do - one option being to travel to the far city and attempt a simultaneous shutdown of the ‘machine’ - something which would take them not just out of time but to another mirror universe. So we can say that ‘time’ will tell what happens.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Contribution from James and a new crewman D Inman have been great in moving things along. Melissa Aragon has made great input as well.

FComm’s Comments: Well that’s a change in the numbers game. The Manhattan saw a huge uptick in posts coming in at 202 IC posts, up from 78 of last month. I am concerned as at the time of this posting half of the ship is either in the red or grayed out on LOA. Otherwise, things seem to be on a big up-swing for the Manhattan. Now if we just could get some more pucky sidekicks er.. .Junior Officers aboard, we’d be all set. If you’re looking for a ship full of great, descriptive, emotive writers with great characterization, this is the place to be.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Clayton Strong

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DH posting has been a little slow. I know we are just getting started with the sim but we need to see about picking it up.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We do not have mnay JOs on the ship at this point.

Who is the shining star this month? The new GM is starting the new sim nicely. I know I don’t control the GM at all or rule over them but I have been enjoying it so far.

Gamemaster: Emily S.

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Memorial has received orders to proceed to a Federation Science Research station on Kabrel II, following a distress call from their commanding officer who has been accused by a rogue Cardassian Gul of manufacturing advanced weaponry. A Cardassian ship is en route to investigate the rumours but both the federation and the research station have no idea of the source of the rumours. Meanwhile on the research station, another puzzling situation is unfolding with the death of a young ensign following a mysterious ailment and the disappearance of the medical team.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? As the ship is still en route, we haven’t really got up and running yet so Kirt is the only one who has been able to push things forward but I’m sure this will pick up when the ship arrives shortly!

FComm’s Comments: Well then, the Memorial had 76 IC posts in the last thirty days up from 45 (more than double). The roster is all green, and the Memorial seems to be much healthier now. Thanks to the concerted efforts of Kirt, Clayton, and Emily S. I’m so happy Emily has returned to STF, and is already proving to be a great writer and GM. I hope the trend continues and the Memorial remains a strong (if still slow) ship. Proud of all of you on the Memorial.

SS Sojourner

Commanding Officer: Lucas Foxley

How is your ship looking overall? The main sim continues to be slow, but people are actively posting to the sim and trying to figure out where to go next or what to do. The thread with Nessa our unexpected dog continues to be entertaining and Gene writes such an amazing crew of NEs. We are still in need of a new CE.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? My favorite moment so far is a thread where my CO, Cpt Renault has an upset stomach and has to go to sickbay. Dr Grey (played by Hjortur) is so amazing. She puts up with nothing and even less from the CO who is also a doctor himself.

https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/sojourner/posts/212074/

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I would still really like to focus on the main sim and moving that along. For a slow speed ship we are doing well, but I would like to see more movement in the coming month. Also will be actively searching for a CE.

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Overall things have slowed down this month in the main sim. With Rob being down with his injury, it slowed down the main sim. However a bunch of side simms have popped up in its absence.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Same as with the DH’s. Good job everyone stepping up to stay active even with our GM down for a bit.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Sim continues on ahead. Ship side some NEs are investigating some boney remains of something they found in the vents. They’re also trying to track down some weird six legged thing that seemingly is roaming within the ship’s ventilation system. Planetside the first group is wrapping up their work and preparing to return to the ship. While the second group is checking in on a survey probe that seems to be having some problems before also returning to the ship.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: There is something in the water supply over at the Sojourner. 301 IC posts in the last thirty days, which is the most I’ve ever seen in the Foremost fleet, beating out the 277 posts they had back in March. Crazy. Crazy good that is.

While things might have slowed in the Main Sim, it seems the ship is full of side sims. At the same time, the roster does have a little red in it, with one particularly outstanding AWOL. Otherwise, this ship is more than healthy.

in regards to that, the Sojourner will be seeking a Chief Engineer. If you’re interested in tinkering with early warp design, keeping a classic ship running in top-notch shape, and working with a great crew, this is the place to be.

  • Are the fleet COs, XOs, and GMs active and participating, IC and OOC? - Yeah, so far as I can tell.
  • Are there any unexcused fleet reports? - One, with Robert Archer, but I suspect he’s still dealing with his injury so he gets a pass.
  • What ship is the shining star this month? - The Sojourner is the boat that rocks, followed closely by the Manhattan. AS for most-improved ship, I would say that would be the Memorial.

Pardon me for asking but which fleet report did I fail to file? I got the CO and GM on the AA filed, and the GM for the Sojourner? Those are the only ones i needed to file for Foremost. Or am I blanking on a ship I am on but forgot somehow? LOL
