Starfleet Academy Report - October 2019
Overall, the month has been relatively quiet. However, I’m pleased to announce the graduation of Jay Luistro and Damian Scott from the Endeavor! Congrats guys!
Also of note, Sarah moving from the XO position on the Endy to the CO position on the Challenger. Congrats again Sarah!!

USS Challenger

Ship Status: The Challenger started the month off fairly slowly, but a concerted effort amongst the command staff to get the sim moving again has produced a much higher activity level over the past week or so.
Spotlight: A big thank you to Steve and James for keeping things going during the CO transition period!

Ship Status: Overall the Challenger was coming out of a bit of a struggle with David needing to step back. But Sarah came in at full strength, and it has really helped to kick start the simm again. Hopefully we will be able to get this solved, and get the Challenger moving on to bigger and better things.

Sim Overview: With Sarah taking the helm once again, and filling some of the other senior vacancies, the Challenger is moving forward on a sim that had been more or less stuck with people talking about what they should do rather than doing it.
Story wise the crew is about to embark on their return trip to the Potterfield hoping to fight their way to engineering and restore power to the ship, hoping that will help some of the problems. From there they can rescue the crew or come up with a continued attack plan.
Spotlight: Sarah H has been a huge help getting the Sim unstuck. I would also like to thank Daniel for his nomination for the “Best GM post in a main sim thread” award.
FComm’s Comments: I’m glad to see the addition of Sarah is working extremely well for the Challenger crew. As entirely expected, she has helped immensely in getting the ship back into a regular posting routine.

Ship Status: We are about to embark on our new mission once we offload our graduated cadets and our former XO (We’ll miss you Sarah!). Gene has started the new mission so there’s a bit of overlap, but nothing super serious. Plus, it’ll keep the cadets still working toward their graduation dates working.

Ship Status: The Endeavour wrapped up its previous sim this month, but unfortunately, after being very active, posting has fallen off dramatically. I hope that with graduation and a new sim coming, it’ll pick back up again from everyone involved.
Spotlight: Ben Simons has been one of the most consistent posters over this month.

Sim Overview: Nothing too much to say really this month. The sim ended at start of Sept and they have been going through grads and side sims. While I had the idea of a segue from the last sim into the next, upon examination dubbed it not practical as a sim story line so have been working new ideas. Which I have as of the writing. Just awaiting the thumbs up to start.
FComm’s Comments: The ship has dropped a bit. There will be some changes this coming month that should hopefully rectify things nicely before it becomes a large problem. With Gene’s sim beginning it might help pick things up as well.
