The Foremost Fleet Report - March 2020

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Overall things have gone pretty well this past month on the Ark Angel. We had up till very recently a small awol and some loas happening, but given the state of things in our lives it was understandable to me. Sim wise the Ark Angel has returned to Starbase 243, debarking the survivors of the Browns Town that had survived and been found four months prior to their return. Elsewhere Lt Starr is sneaking around an Orion ship trying to figure out how best he can be of use or escape and/or find Trax. Elsewhere still Lt Trax Sueder has been examined by a Cardassian doctor and now comes face to face with his mother and 19 younger Betazoids who seem almost worshipful of Trax for some reason. Finally we had a new returning member rejoin us with an old pc which will be interesting to play out given events from the Picard show.

Spotlight: The players of Trax and Starr for their personal stakes and roles in the sim great seeing how this plays out.

Vacancies: 1x Eng JO
2x Sec JOs
2x Sci JOs

Executive Officer: Ben Simons

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The crew is currently split between three places. With the crew all split up, it has meant that there has been multiple situations to be dealt with. Our CO has had some issues this month but has kept everyone up to date, and the crew have done a lot to continue with the story while waiting.

Spotlight: This month I’d like to highlight our new Engineer, Eve - who has had some very interesting posts, and still quite new to the ship.

Vacancies: We have position for all JOs as usual, right now our priority is a new Medical Officer.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7

FComm’s Comments: The AA has had a good month in general, despite the current climate. A few AWOLs and LOAs which were expected. The main sim has taken an interesting twist and I have enjoyed reading the side sims that have been going on as well. Cookies for the AA crew for their hard work this month and for Rob and Ben for being the first command team to get their ship reports in on time this month, many thanks gentlemen.

Moving forward over the next month for the AA the focus should be on continued recruitment for the JO roles they are looking for.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Tyra Schroll

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The Asimov is doing okay in terms of posting. We are a slow ship so we are doing okay with the speed. The sim is intersting and moving nicely. Jason is a very creative GM and finds ways to involve everyone in the sim. Unfortunately, a report will ahve to be made to the admiral that the Asimov has crashed and been beaten up. As of right now the crew is stranded on a deserted island with a Ferengi and possibly some other inhabitants that we are about to meet. I am excited to see how we can fix the ship with what we have and get back into space.

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: Calé Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: The azzy seems to have slowed with everything going on. I am confident we will pick up however as things progress.

Spotlight: Some good work by everyone to stay active this month.

Vacancies: CMO! And medical we badly need some medical people. Interested parties please speak to myself or Tyra our CO.

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Excused, Jason has been eaten by Real life at the report time. A negotiation team has been dispatched to ensure his safe return for next months report.

FComm’s Comments: As I said in my XO report (brief as it was, sorry!) The Azzy had a slower month, there are a few LOAs and one if two crew members have been removed due to AWOL. Despite this the small but hard working people left have battled it out with Ferengi and a downed ship. Jason has been great at keeping people involved.

Moving forward over the next month for the Azzy the focus should be on continued recruitment for the CMO post especially as well as working to get those crew members returning from LOA involved again, I am confident it can meet this target by the next report.

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: We are good. XO is essential right now so on LOA… it’s been nearly a month, but everyone is doing well. Sim seems to be coming to a climax/ending… lots of excitement.

Spotlight: GM… he’s kept my interest far longer than any GM I’ve been involved with… and constantly challenges me as a scientist, CO and writer… I’m loving it.

Vacancies: I just added a comms… otherwise, no changes since last month.

Executive Officer: No report submitted - Excused, Owen is currently classed as an essential worker and was unable to submit the report on time as a result.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: The sim progresses pretty well. The question is how it might conclude. The away team to the foundation of the Sphere looking for a possible habitat for the imperiled city dwellers hanging by a literal thread was recalled at the very threshold of them potentially finding out something. This recall was because the Bonnie, previously outside the Sphere was coming in to assist the evacuation of First City, a large sphere that held thousands of beings. On the Sphere a team was working with a particularly panicked administrator to initiate an evacuation order for the Sphere. Even with ships approaching to assist, the question remains: will that be enough to hold everyone from First City to escape the coming destruction of the city through the failure of its network of anti-grav units keeping the forces of the black hole at bay from pulling the city into it?

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The Bonnie has taken well to the ship speed change and despite some LOAs (mist notably the XOs) things are progressing well with the sim and the crew are better engaged. Bamboo cookies to Mel and the crew for this improvement and I know they are working in continuing this. Thank you for this work guys.

Moving forward over the next month for the Bonnie the focus should be on continued recruitment for the JO roles they are looking for and maintaining the improved engagement.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: No report submitted - Excused, James has been eaten by a small (but very cute) furry creature who I am sure is really a good Boi! He will return as soon as we find a squeaky toy to distract the puppy with! (Also real life has been busy which may be the real reason but wasn’t as fun to write)

Executive Officer: Steven Sigle

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We are having a bit slow due to RL issues, but the team is still going at a decent pace. A lot of great stories from our team in both main and side sims that have been captivating me. I especially like the story between Kate O’Neill and Lindsay Bayes with their Jasmine and Faye.

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: The sim is underway! The Away Team of the Manhattan has shuttled down to the surface Visitor Center of Graven XII and has met with their respective persons with which to assist in well, their respective areas - inter-department law enforcement, repair of a geo-thermal plant, assisting in a agro-field that is yielding poorly, aiding in xeno-medical viruses and talking about a possible Federation embassy being planted there. So far things have gone well in the meeting of the various personalities. They have only just begun to split up and head to well, where they are going to be heading toward.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: The Manny has had a good month even if it has been slightly slower, but it has Certainly not slowed in terms of the excitement to read! While LOAs and AWOLs are to be expected in this current climate the Manhattan has worked hard to stay on top of this and has done a champion job of this. Thank you for that hard work! The sim started well and I have enjoyed reading about the characters the crew have encountered, the side sims have also been interested to read with a lot of good character development opportunities.

Moving forward over the next month for the Manhattan the focus should be on continued recruitment for the JO roles they are looking for.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The Ship is just getting ready to start its next sim Stand by for more information

Spotlight:

Vacancies: JO’s 1 Engineer 2 Medical 1 Scientist

SWING Helm Officer/Shuttle Pilot (Be part of Engineering when Piloting is not needed), Counseling JO, AI Expert, Also Part of Engineering

Executive Officer: Nathan Derricutt

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The Ship posting has slowed down a little bit, however given the current circumstances around the world i don’t think it is something to be overly concerned about. I will still email the AWOL members to see if they need any help. Our new sim is just starting and the crew who are active are posting in side sims until the sim kicks offer fully. I’ve been on LOA fora bit and will be catching upin te next day or two. Other than these little things the ship seems to be in good form and the crew moral seems high.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: We are still looking for JOs in all departments

Gamemaster: No report submitted - Not excused. No reason given.

FComm’s Comments: The Memorial has had a bit of a slow month this month, AWOLs and LOAs are of course to be expected and having just finished a sim the ship finds itself in a bit of a lull period which has impacted slightly on the posting rate and ship engagement. Many side sims are still on going and Kirt and Nathan have done a good job of keeping on top of this and spurring the crew on where possible. Bamboo cookies for that.

Moving forward over the next month for the Memorial the focus should be on picking up the engagement and getting the main sim underway which will help with that, also continued recruitment for the JO roles they are looking for.

Generally speaking the Foremost fleet is ticking along. We have some examples of great work and effort going on and some examples of ships who are close to the line of meeting the criteria for a healthy environment. It is my intention For Joe and I to work with those command crews to help support them to meet their individual goals and improve in this over the coming month.

I also want to mention that (and I know each fleet and the club as a whole is also impacted by this) we have a number of people who are key/ essential workers, busy with family obligations, Ill themselves, etc. in this difficult time and I would personally like to take a moment to thank them for this work and for continuing to help support the fleet when they have been able.

Fleet awards for March

The Boat that Rocks- The ship of the month- USS Ark Angel
The Golden Gleemen - Writer(s) of the month - Lindsay Bayes and Kate O’Neill
Starship Trooper- Player of the month - Not awarded
Dungeon Master- GM of the Month- Gene Gibbs

This Foremost Fleet report has been brought to you by the Letter O and the Number 10. No puppies or hostage negotiation teams were harmed in the creation of this report, but one Panda did spill coffee over the table while hunting for a charger.
