Starfleet Academy Report - May 2020

Overall it has seemed like a quiet month. I have done some work in the background, more reviewing older pages for content upgrades which I’m going to aim to complete some of them before end of the term. Overall, the sole Academy ship is a gem and a hive of activity. It will be nice to see these eagerly posting cadets hit the main fleets and some of them will be doing so relatively soon.

The department is in good shape, however, I’d really love to get my mentor’s coordinator in place. The role has been filled by people who have great intentions but cannot seem to give it the time and energy it deserves, so I’d love to find someone who is willing to really take that role on with tenacity and make it their own. If you think that’s you, drop me an email with your details and convince me. :)

USS Challenger

Commanding Officer: Sarah Hemenway

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: The Challenger is humming along. The poor senior staff is being run through the wringer with this amazing, active group of cadets! They’re even off starting their own side sims at this point, so we’re looking forward to graduating them off to the main fleet shortly.

Spotlight: Still the senior staff for keeping up with everything. Thank you, guys!

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Sim Overview: The teams are so close to finishing the sim!

The first team has gotten into the mines and is well on their way to rescue the trapped miners! The second team has the power systems back up and running and the third team is getting to the bottom of what really happened.

The sim should conclude this month.

FComm’s Comments: Whew…this is an active ship and it’s going to be a large influx of graduates soon. That will be our primary concern, however, Sarah and I are working on the logistics of that. The Challenger is in extremely good shape though and I’m pleased with how things are going over there.
