Starfleet Academy Report - June 2020
Whew, I think we just broke a few records this month. Definitely most posts on an Academy ship ever and probably any ship ever in the club as a whole…
And we had 10 cadet graduations from the ship, I’ve never processed that many in one go in all my years as Academy Commandant and while we had a few minor hiccups, it went actually pretty well. I have to give out a “cramped hands” award to Sarah and Steve for completing the CO and XO evaluation reports for all these cadets and we had the DHs weigh in on their cadets for the first time ever which was interesting and something that we may look into making permanent in the future.
Due to new DHs in the house, we are moving back to a three cadet per department model, per Sarah’s request.
No other major announcements at this stage, I think we’ll just coast a little bit until the end of term…

Commanding Officer: Sarah Hemenway
Crew Posting Level: 10
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 10
Ship Status: I’m not one to freely give out 10s for posting level, but per a count that Joe did for me, the Challenger came just shy of producing 1,500 posts during the month of June. In my time in STF, I can’t recall a ship ever producing that level of activity and it should surely receive recognition. The cadre of active cadets has now been released onto the rest of STF, with several staying behind to fill DH positions. Our sim has ended and we’re spending some time getting those transitions handled IC, with a new XO and a new CNS coming on board too.
Spotlight: Everyone for making the last several months one of the craziest but fun times I’ve ever had in STF.

Sim Overview: We apparently broke the club… Which is impressive.
For the sim it is finally over! The miners were saved and the crew is off to new and great extremes.

FComm’s Comments: Holy posts Batman! The Challenger is a model of a healthy ship with some super eager cadets on board (many of which are now released into the wilds of the main fleet!) and all I can really say is – freaking awesome job Challenger crew!
I look forward to seeing what the newest batch of cadets can do, Geoff has an extremely intriguing sim in store for the crew as well that I’m excited to see what they do with!
