Campaign HQ - Davis/Sinclair - An Apology

Posted July 17, 2020, 1:13 p.m. by Fleet Captain Jerome Davis (Presidential Candidate) (Jerome Davis)

Good Afternoon,

On behalf of myself and my ticket, I wanted to issue a public apology for an honest mistake made by me and me alone in an attempt to thoroughly and responsibly answer a question in regard to a serious & sensitive topic that is incredibly personal to me… the topic of gaslighting. Last night, in responding to Fleet Captain Adam W., I went a bit too detailed in an attempt to make a point incredibly clear as to not make any one person feel personally attacked. In doing so, I ran afoul of of the TOS itself in sharing the full text of the article I cited in my response to Adam. I cited the article as best I thought I could in this format and posted the response, hoping I had both provided the necessary citations needed to meet Election rules while also thoroughly answering Adam’s question. I made a mistake in treating this more like an academic paper (I was close to citing in Chicago format) and not a post in a online community that has always gone above and beyond to keep third-party content off the site.

I want to apologize to both the membership, the Exec and my running mate for this mistake. As I said in response to the EC… “it was, truthfully, an honest mistake made in attempt to be completely thorough in discussion of a highly sensitive topic.” and I thank the EC for bringing it to my attention.

We all make mistakes, learn from them, and become better people. I humbly ask each of you for your forgiveness in this matter, a mistake made with no malice, as I continue to strive to be a better serving member of our wonderful community.

Kindest Regards,
Fleet Captain Jerome Davis
