This is a question for Sarah.

What goals did you and Steve have for this past term? Which did you meet and which did you not meet? I don’t recall your goals for the term being extensively communicated during the uncontested election.

Adam W.

Hi Adam,

While Steve and I never got into presenting the action item making stage of our platform, we’ve been using our planning spreadsheet pretty frequently throughout the term to try to get things done that we anticipated. Unfortunately, a lot of our focus had to be tabled due to COVID-19, which definitely required a pivot in the focus of the executive. Some other things ended up tabled (such as a fleet report revision) because there wasn’t follow through by the people entrusted with those responsibilities (and then, again, COVID-19 popped up). It’s been a valuable experience going into this term with what is reasonable to expect in eight months, particularly with everything going on in the world right now.

Complaints have been made regarding this reply. In particular the accuracy of the following statement: “Some other things ended up tabled (such as a fleet report revision) because there wasn’t follow through by the people entrusted with those responsibilities (and then, again, COVID-19 popped up).”

Specifically, the complaint relates to the reference to the fleet report revision goal. Following the complaints being emailed Silke and I have conducted an investigation in this matter.

Based on this and information from the current president as well as those who logged the complaint, there is compelling evidence that the parties working on the fleet report revision goal continued their work up until the beginning of the COVID-19 related shut downs. At the same time, we did not find compelling evidence regarding that, given the circumstances, this work was communicated to the executive after this point.

Therefore, I find that while the statement made by Sarah appears to be inaccurate, in that work was done, I also find that it was made in good faith by Sarah based on the information she was privy to.

I am therefore noting the inaccuracy, and posting that note here.
