Well, I suppose I’m not entirely sure what all to say here, so maybe don’t read this in expectation of a clear, concise statement. And if you’re expecting poetry; well I think we’re all going to be disappointed.
I only joined Star-Fleet.com relatively recently; in January of this year. Since then, I’ve come to truly enjoy my time here, even if I have confined my presence to a single ship. I’ll likely branch out one of these days, but that’s neither here nor there. From the beginning, Mr. Davis has been accommodating and helpful; quick to reply with advice and answer questions; some of which were undoubtedly ‘obvious’ to a long-time member such as himself. And I don’t think my experience is unique, either - I believe I’ve read a few endorsements that have similar things to say.Though I haven’t been a member for long, it seems that we’re at an.... interesting time in SF’s life; a few ships have been decommissioned recently, and there seems to be a shortage of GM’s. I’m not suggesting anything by that; I reckon such a cycle is relatively normal - everything has ups and downs; and frankly given the current global ‘situation,’ I suppose many people are otherwise occupied by events a bit closer to home.
That being said… I’m comfortable with saying that I believe both Jerome and James will help to promote this place as a welcome environment for new players; as I was just a short time ago. While I’ve had lots of experience with IRL tabletop RPG games prior to joining, I had none with online games; this was a similar but different world. Without guidance from existing members, I likely wouldn’t have stuck around. How many of you reading this are in the same boat? In my opinion, attraction and welcoming of new players is important, if not vital, to SF’s continued success. I make no claims of predicting the future, of course; but most any organization takes direction from the ‘head’, so to speak.
To that end, I endorse Jerome Davis and James Sinclair - I feel confident in their leadership of this community.
